A tire’s inflation pressure has to be checked
regularly as all tires lose pressure over time.
The air seeps out through microscopic pores in
the tire, leaking slowly from the bead seal, and
even through porosity leaks in alloy wheels.
Some tires tend to lose more air than others,
and if a tire has a tiny puncture or a cut, it can
lose a lot of air in a short period of time.
The point here is that many motorists rarely
check the infl ation pressure in their tires. Tire
pressures must be checked when the tires are
cold because driving generates friction and heat
that increases the pressure inside the tires.
Checks on inflation pressures also require an
accurate tire gauge.
Increasing the inflation pressure reduces rolling
resistance which helps fuel economy and
increases the load carrying capacity of the tire,
but it increases ride harshness. Decreasing the
infl ation pressure on the other hand improves
ride quality by making the tire softer. Undercertain circumstances this may help improve
traction. However lowering the pressure also
reduces the tire’s ability to carry weight and
increases rolling resistance as well as thread
wear.
When a tire is under inflated, it runs much
hotter than normal and this may pose a
potential danger. An under infl ated, heavily
loaded tire on a fast traveling car has a greater
risk of a blowout. A blowout can have deadly
consequences as it causes the vehicle to lose
control. If the blowout occurs on a vehicle like
a truck or SUV with a high center of gravity, it
greatly increases the risk of a rollover.Tire Infl ation Pressure Monitoring Systems
(TPMS) from Advanced Sensors (M) Sdn Bhd are
being used on more and more vehicles. Low tire
pressures are potentially dangerous, especially
if a vehicle is heavily loaded and traveling at
highway speeds during a hot weather. An underinfl
ated tire under these conditions is a blowout
waiting to happen. The inflation pressure of the
tires should be checked regularly and this is
where the Tire Pressure Monitor Systems come
into use.
Make sure you always check your tires before
you drive. Remember! As the tires wear out,
the air pressure leaks out too.

yeah...for those low profile tire, we need to check frequently, but back to square, how much is this?

nice item...
