As Salam and Good day...

Guys need some advice...

Previously my old worn out knuckle (bearings) the tie rod end sits like this...the screw end up upright...

then I've changed to another model knuckle that have a bigger disk and caliper...but now the tie rod end , ends up the other way around, the screw end bottoms down...

After changed it , I'm having some issues :

1) The steering feels a bit awkward ...the steering wheels when cruising 120km/h, it seems to follow the road surface...
2) when turning left, when the the suspensions, re-bounce back down...the steering wheel tend to turn slightly to the right...

So my question are :

1) Are those problems due to the changes made to the tie rod positions ?
2) Besides using back old knuckles (need to change wheel bearing plus new tie rod and tie rod end), do we have this kind of tie rod ?

Will it solved the problem ?

Thanks in advance...

last time i change my tie rod end.. the mechanic put d screw on top.. upright position..

feels the steering is much better than b4..

lets wait for other people to comment

Thanks for the reply guys...

Bump steer issue...hmmmm...

I realize the tie rod wasn't linear enough...it was raise a bit...
now tie rod is in down right position...adding screw will raise it more...
else i need to raise the rack...wallauweehhhh...carzy aaa... :P

arghhhh...need to change to old knuckle aaa ? :banghead: :banghead:

when your car put on its wheel the tie rod sitting above the steering race or not???if not then i think it is ok....if tie rod sitting above rack level then have to put downside....

maybe its just your feeling not used to new tie rod position...

(but re-check with other toyota user regarding the tie rod position)

It's not just a feeling... :D

when jack the car...the steering toe in it self...hahahaha

last night re-check it...the tie rod can be flip upside down...need to sent to engineering...make the cone shape slot upside down...

hahahaha...issue settled...
make the a bigger hole...pump the new slot it, so the flipped tie rod end fit nicely (ketat maaa) ...nice !!!
the tie rod are linear / straight as it supposed too...thank god...

Thanks guys...

The cone is machined to the knuckle steering arm so that the tie rod end will center itself on the steering arm hole.

Glad u made it and no more bump steer
