Guys,

Can anyone tell me wat is KNOCK SENSOR ? I did a diagnosis on the engine and the ecu signal came out with code 34 ( knock sensor).
What does it mean?
Anyone know how to do trouble shooting on this matter ?
Secondly where can i get a new O2 sensor in the market?

Tq.

The Knock Sensor is there to detect pre-ignition and detonation, if the ECU does
detect such a condition then the timing is made retard to prevent distruction
of the engine. The sound of the engine knocking resembles the sound of
shaking of metal bearings inside a glass bottle. There are many reasons that
would cause an engine to knock and throw out an error code, suggest you
first check to see that the wire to the knock sensor is not disconnected. Have
you recently up'ed the boost?, if so it could be that the air/fuel mixture
may not be correct and that it possibly is running lean. Low on fuel with hard
accelaration coming off a corner can cause knocking to occur too, or maybe a
weak fuel pump?, atmospheric air is hot, etc....

good luck !.

thks bro..

Actually where is this sensor located? i'm still running on a standar boost.Previously using the GTR fuel pump but since I thought the pump was spoiled ( loud humming sounds can be heard ) i change it back to stock fuel pump.
Anyway last night .i disconnect the battery and reconnect it this morning.Diagnosis code read 55 ..system ok.

Quite weird isn't it??

By disconnecting your battery you are actually cutting off power to the ECU, this action
resets the ECU. When the ECU is reset, all traces of error codes are erased. To determine
if you still have a "knocking" situation you will have to drive the car around for awhile to allow the ECU to detect and record the error, knocking usually occurs during hard accelaration and if the knocking is still there the error code will show up when you
initiate the diagnostic procedure, be very careful during hard accelarations and be
prepared to lift off your foot when your hear engine knocks or it's going to kaboommm!.

The high pitch humming sound is a norm when using a GTR fuel pump, could your problem
be because you had switched it back to your standard fuel pump?, maybe your standard
pump is weak?. Try going back to the GTR pump and see if your problem goes away.

The knock sensor is located by the side of the engine block under the intake manifold.

good luck !.
