Hi folks, need help my SW20 develop weird problem after the Genting session. On the way back from Genting fuel cut at 3000rpm countless times. Only able to drive slowly and unable to accelerate as fuel cuts when hitting 3000 rpm. Diagnostic check reveal "Turbo sensor " problem. Got it replace with junk shop spares still the same. Replaced Spark plugs, Cables, rotor and distributors, ignitor & coil still same problem . Reset ECU problem goes away for short time frame and repeat again. Still pointing to "Turbo sensor" fault :banghead:. Anybody able to offer help?
Btw speed sensor was not hookup as the small gear cud be kaput and the whole assembly stuck unable to pull out. Gen. 2 ECU std, Anyone encounter similar problem? Anyone got spare turbo sensor? Thanks.

Error code 34? Was having tht problem also...but mine was due to AFM problem. Not sure if yours (MR2) comes with AFM.

Hi Groundzero,
Yes error code #34......damn right but 34 is turbo sensor fault. AFM is #24 if i am not wrong. Did u hv #34 problem too? Was it cure after changing AFM? My gen 2 comes with AFM.

yeap. mine was 34 and it has to do with the setting inside the AFM. but mine was like tht since the beginning...yours might not be due to this. Was told by a fren frens (including mech) tht it is best to leave the AFM setting as it is from Jap. You can just borrow an AFM from your fren or your workshop to test. I did not change my AFM. they just play around with the setting 'inside' the AFM. Problem gone.

replaced the AFM this morning. drive around and error #24 appeared now which is Intake Air temp. sensor.
this is getting me crazy....

Ops...but are you still getting 34? hmmm think u better get it checked...MUT? or something like tht (dont know wht it is called)..

Anyway thanks for yr advice. I drove all the way from Pahang to KL slow and steady norm driving with minimal boost ( less than 0.5 bar ), no code appear. Hv checked the BOV , it is free and not stuck. Need to check hoses for leaks..........
Will post once I find the problem.......:hmmmm:

at least the autocross cleared up all the possible cobwebs for you. I'm being optimistic. Similar although less dramatic thing happen to me too (when i first autocrossed the sw). But because of that now all problems are fixed. Good luck

just my experience.
i got this problem when i first change from ct26 to ct20.
i have equipted with a boost controller(some where around 0.6bar i think) and fuel pump to solve this problem.
hope it helps.

Problem located......fuel cut !! Installed a self made FCD...problem solved.
Managed to transfered back my MINEs board into the gen.2 ECU but having the speed code# 42 occassionally comes on because I do not have the speed sensor installed in the G/Box. Need to look for a Cruise speed sensor adapter inorder for me to attach to the tranny. Mine is gen 1 using cable drive.....

Green, mind sharing how you manage to pinpoint the problem? My problem came back recently...cut even at 0.2bar. From wht i understand, fuel cut is triggered when the car overboosts....but why do i get fuel cut at 0.2bar (your case 0.5bar)?

Hi ground zro, sorry for the late reply, was away, just came back. I copied the design from MR Controls...simple and cheap. I hope the attachment works.....happy diying...............

Thanks. Saw this somewhere in the web sometime ago but did not dare to try...since you have done it, I guess it is safe to try.

Thanks again.
