1)BP5 is 2.0, BP9 is 2.5 no matter legacy or outback. Outback has higher ground clearance for off-roading.

2)No, spec-b means bilstein suspension, lower n sportier with added accessories.

3)EJ25D no turbo only put out 165ps. JDM EJ20X/Y with 265bhp A/T, 280bhp M/T.

Get a JDM spec-b u get more then a normal GT model.

Hi Subaru otais,

Just would like to know:

1. Excluding the S402s, are there JDM Legacy codenamed BP9? Or is the code only meant for JDM Outbacks (higher ground clearance than BP5 Legacy/less sportier)?
2. Is there an Outback spec.B?
3. Does the EJ25D make 250ps, while the EJ20X/EJ20Y on BP5/BL5 make 265ps?

I'm also looking for a 2nd hand 2004 Legacy BP5 Luxury or spec.B, preferably black. If you guys know any unit for sale, kindly PM. Thanks.

so far none up for sale i saw...but a few on road...

Thanks bro, saw the ad but I don't think that's a spec.B right?

Not sure if that is a McIntosh player installed in the car.

Yes.. mine with moonroof.

Mc system is option when u purchase new car so is not specific on spec-b only, mine normal 6cd player. Spec-b original came with 18'' rim, front rear aluminum lower arm, aluminum padel, bilstein suspension with stiffer spring.

Thank you brother very useful information there.

Can I say the easiest way to know whether a car is a spec.B is whether it has aluminium pedals & Bilstein suspension?

Should I look for any special codes on the VIN?

Bilstein suspension can be install, but aluminum lower arm is the most expensive part, so should confirm a spec-b by that. Double check the "Applied model" online then u can confirm its a spec-b, Mine was BP5A5GV, diff year have diff no, BP5 ''A-E'' A=2003 till E=07/08, ''5GV'' is spec.

This is the full set aluminum arm only on spec-b.
