you need to modify the mounts, the manual gearbox mount is a bit towards the front than the automatic, not to mention the gear shifter mount also needs to be modded/covered. The rear bracket, should be correct, unless the mech that did the previous D16 to B16a auto conversion messed up.
The thing is, why are you handing over your car to a mech that doesn't know about honda conversions to do your conversion? :hmmmm:
So far I think the only way to get away without modifying the mounts are using US hasport mounts, which is not as cheap as moving the mount forward.
Forget using the stock linkage.. I remember when I had the stock linkage and the double din console, my knuckles kept hitting the headunit of my CD player. The standard type R linkage better.
Or S2's if you can't find the ori R linkage.
It's a bit more expensive, but the shifting is a lot better than the standard linkage. Do it right, or don't do it at all, that's what I think. The main reason for manual conversion is because you wanted more fun out of your B16a, but if you're going with stock linkage, what the ??????????
You also need a modded ecu to run manual, the auto ECU can be modded to manual, but you might want to find someone that does that professionally, because if that person isn't used to electronic work, he will fry that board.
I'm trying to fix the HC373 that someone else fried, but the thing is, my soldering skills are just as bad...
I realised that, and that's why I got someone else to solder it.. but he messed up as well.. lol
Oh well, looks like I have to brush up on my soldering skills and fix it.
True B16a auto to manual conversion isn't cheap, and when you cut corners, by the end of the day, you might be wishing that you stuck with your auto g/box.
Whatever floats your boat...... it's your car.
