Guys,.
I want to scrapped my old car, and I got about $300 for it, but part of that went to the towing company who brought it to the junkyard for me. The amount was based on the weight of the car.
Any best idea about that,.?

depends what car. Some are scrapped for usable parts that are sourced by mechanics and car owners. The offerred price will be higher.

The car that show plenty of rust, dents, bad damages, holes, incomplete mechanical parts is destined to the scrapped yard.
Not calculated by kg. but per average sized car.

BTW, what car/model are your scrapping?

better u dismantle any usable part and sell it as separate item....then only call besi buruk guy to come down and tear it apart for scrap...

even if u dismantle the engine part by part some other steel and alloy have different price/kg at scrap yard...that would be a better option

i scraped my toyota LE chasis frame for RM300.....a fren of mine took it......gave him the original geran summore.

It's reasonable, usually u get rm500 but minus tow truck rm100-200, u get rm300 .

what car??
if its olskool, maybe it'll be some fan here
well..“one man's trash is another man's treasure''..heheh

Actually, I want to share the info here...

Good running condition cars need not be scrapped...

Many years back I help my neighbour to sell his condemned Proton Saga Megavalve for RM1,500 cash

His was an ex taxi and failed puspakom because blacklisted as kereta sambung (joint welded accident car)

I sold it to a motorbike shop in Felda Karatong in Pahang.

But you need to drive there to collect the cash, no hanky panky, original reg card is needed...

The motorbike shop also doubles as a car dealer, probably take RM1,000 as down payment and collect RM250 a month from the buyer in the estate for another 2 years?

But now I think they already upgraded to 4X4 pickups etc, dont know if old cars can still be sold there....
