RIM 17x8 inch for FORD TX3 (Sampan) possible?

Anyone tried using a 17x8inch rim on a Ford Laser TX3 (2-door sampan) before?

I'm eager to find out if fitting can be done, either 16x8inch or 17x8inch.

Wow! With large rims, the car will be slower than usual. And you will wear the wheel bearings faster due to extra weight from 17" rims

oh izit? well, i'm currently using 17"x7" with performance absorbers n springs, no wearing out for the past 4 years

just wondering if anyone has tried to run 17"x8" without spacers...
