Can anyone tell me usually how long is the lifespan of the honda stock radiotor?
I just found mine cracked this morning. It previously come with my half cut with mileage 40k km only. Is it normal for radiotor to crack?
All honda radiotor made by Denso? Mine looked so new, even the wordings are still clearly printed on it, but it still crack. :thefinger:
what is the price for recon one for B18C? i know koyo is good but the price put me off. Anyone tried the local made aluminium one before?

There's no specific answer on this. It depends on manufacturing quality at that particular point of time and in the manner that you (or the previous owner) have maintained it (including the engine). Some people with EFs with many KMs clocked on them had never experience cracked radiator problems before.

Where did it crack? At the cover or the core? Can be repaired.
FRC considered local made?? RM1400.
China made dual core should be RM8xx.

its the same thing with airconditioned system that you need to FULLY service them between 6-12 months. how many times do your service your radiator in a year? prolly no. u should do a thorough flush every 6-12 months if possible even if its still okay. the lifespan of a certain part will be depending in the user awareness and usage.

Yes, agree with J101.. but usually my radiator last a bit over 12 months.. (O_o)
they usually get the fin broken and the radiator will leak due to the small pebbles and rocks I collect during my daily drive.

70K kilometres in a little over a year.. hahaha...

Big maintainance bill coming soon for me. :P

Radiator, water pump, timing belt, tires, LMAs all need to be changed..

Maybe I should stuff in some flat valves when replacing the LMAs. :)

Aluminium radiators are only good if you don't leave your car sitting around for any length of time. The aluminum will start to get that whitish tinge (I forget what's it's called, my brain is not working now, but it's like rust, but not rust) on some areas inside and out if you don't drive it often.

Daily driven aluminium radiators actually look better than an aluminium radiator in car that's not driven for long. (barring the fins, which usually get folded by pebbles and the like)

never service my radiotor since my transplant havent reached one year and i rarely drive, not even up to 7000km. if seldom drive will the radiotor prone to break?

if you dont drive than there are no heat expansion to break it. unless in malaysia we have rodents with titanium teeth, chance could be. heheheheheheeheh

i seldom drive but my radiotor still break, thats mean i am the lucky one. Will cheapo coolent caused radiotor to break?

god knows if they ever had service the radiator in the 1st place since it was a halfcut from japan. so nothing much to be blamed since its a 2nd hand. dont blame the coolant or honda for the radiator. they are bound to break at the end of the day.

if you get a brand new oem radiator, maybe you can start monitoring from there.
