PE just called me to inform me that my loan has been approved. Will need to collect documents on 17th Nov before meeting the loan officer. Yipppeee!!

So you are obtaining financing from Bank Bumi Commerce right?
I presume PE did not tell you the deliver the car.

Yeah, loan is from BC-Finance. No, PE did not advise, but from the sounds of it, I think the cars are ready to be picked up.

Called PE on friday, the sales guy said the cars are ready to be collected but Proton has not provided them with the car ducuments....sigh..

Not hard to guess how the lightening was done:

1) No ABS
2) No Airbags
3) Lightweight alloy rims
4) Cross-drilled brakes
5) Lighter seats
6) Lighter carpets
7) A couple of carbon fiber parts
8) No motor in side mirrors
9) Various soundproofing material here n there (which is supposedly already non-existant on less premium models like Satria/Wira 1.6)

so its almost like they took a 1.3/1.6 shell, did some extra welding here n there, bolt on gti parts and some extra goodies and made it r3? o_O

i always thought the GTi's shell was double welded for extra stiffness.

to save more KG's....

save a few grams they can drill holes onto the pedals too :P
it won't have the carpet thinggy on the interior roof and no interior trim :P
better yet no ICE those magnets are heavy :P
1 coat of paint :P
remove extra padding for rear seats :P
no middle arm rest console :P
