R3-Satria (gti)

Hows' life? i just came back after working for 3 events. Somemore my car Masuk workshop today. to power transmit to one of the spark plug. whole car shaking like H**l. maybe that is why fuel consumption is so hi i guess. i call them to change the meter for me to and also the drive shaft. this time it's gonna blow my pocket out.
 
SteveLance you have single-handedly revived this thread from the depths of the ZTH servers. wow. now i wonder where the rest of the guys are. well all the best with your car, just serviced mine and still running good.
have yet to take it to the track. maybe when i'm about to change tyres.

ha ha stan. good to hear man from you. well what do you expect. noticed the same thing aswell but got it sorted during the service.

one question man, has anybody "Titan'd" thier R3? if not what do you think it would be like? can it be more comfortable without sacrificing its road-holding performance?

i'm pretty happy with the stock setup.
Titans, will never as comfy as stock. Better handling, yes.
 
Coz R3 is an outdated story i think :)
Was wondering if a normal GTI batch 99-01 can outperform R3 :)
Dunno if it has been posted before coz m a bit lazy to read each n every page :P
 
In a nutshell, no.

All things remaining constant, a stock Satria R3 will whoop a stock GTi's ass. This said, the comparison is in terms of track performance. Other factors may need further research.

Why the interest? Getting one?

if stock car to stock car,

the Satria R3 is designed and proven to beat the standard GTi.
of course modded GTis and modded R3s are another ballgame altogether.

Thanks, do know it's a stupid question since no one would produce a new car tat's worse than it's predecessor except for RX8, haha....

Was thinking of getting a GTi but not R3, hehe :)
 
get R3 laa...powerful a bit than stock GTi...

but have to jaga2 la..i think it's very hard to take care the R3..everywhere got penyamun..

but if u buy a GTi, then usik sini, usik sana, then can power like R3 already...
 
Buying a GTi will never be as worth it as a Satria R3; there are some parts that cannot be modded unless you strip the entire GTi and refit everything.

Oh, and by the way, the RX-8 is an improvement over the RX-7's. It's just because Mazda decided to not make the RX-8 a boy-racer's car. Everything is where it's needed and how it's needed. I don't think the amount of problems associated with the RX-8 is as much as the RX-7's.
 
R3 is lighter than GTi. It is un fair to compare.

2 x satria R3 - and plonk a 1999 satria GTi engine and electronics into one of it. then can test.
 
the different between gti n R3 on their perfomance is cam, ecu,exhaust system and body spotted (to improved handling)..their chasis are same either with gti,1.6 or 1.3..the difference only body spotted which gti have 100 over, n for sure R3 more than GTi..

and the advanti rims were 5kg lighter than stock GTi...

this is what was told by my fren to me...
