Aisay.. I think this has been discussed so many times in several places. Uponriversky's thread too. Because we don't use oil. LOL! Like what uponriversky said - water is a pretty good conductor that doesn't explode in your face at certain temperatures. Caaaaan. It's pointless though. Pure coolant is acidic and it'll eat through the metal like it was biscuits. Those "full coolants" you buy out there aren't really 'pure' coolant, they are premixed. Usually 50-50 but really depends on the purpose of the coolant, cooler countries the premix normally would be higher on the coolant less on the water. Usually premixed coolants are good but not that good. It'll keep it at optimum temperature but not make it cooler. You want cooler install a bigger more efficient radiator and change to a lower temperature thermostat. Yes.. read my reply in #2. You gotta understand what ethylene glycol coolants do and why they do what they do before you experiement with these things. Foremans in M'sia are sadly apprentices to bawah pokok foremans and sometimes their knowledge is dangerously inaccurate. Like how some foremans tell you to throw away the thermostat - that's probably not going to be the end of the world but your engine will never warm up to optimum temperature in time (or at all) and you'll have more wear and tear in your engine internals. That's a bad thing. So anyway - good thing to ask in forums for clearer knowledge, but also good to check it up on Google for opinions from countries where they take engineering seriously - like in the US for example. Even reboring a cylinder wall they have honing plates. How many engineering shops in KL do that?
