Performance Camshaft Specs and Price

Hi guys,

Can i just find out what kind of camshaft specs do you all look for when choosing cams and the price you would pay for them. Need more info for a survey.

1. When choosing cam you look for maximum Performance or better than stock with good idle?

2. Brand preference?

3. Price range you would pay for a pair of cams
a: Below RM2000
b: RM2001-RM2500
c: above RM2500

4. Would you upgrade the valvetrain too with the new cams? Like Valve springs and retainers?

5. If yes to Quest 4, then how much would you spend on them?
a: Less than RM1000
b: RM1001-RM1500
c: above RM1500

Its what u wanna for ur car tht determining de answer... What u hv in ur car, n with de cams setting what results u expecting them to give u...

If jus mild mod, go for Tomei PonCam where u do not need to chage valve springs n retainers... If u r aiming for higher power when u got urself a bigger aftermkt turbo, then u might need 262, 270 or even 280 cams to go with ur setting... Wherether u r aiming for high end power curve or mainly focusing on responsiveness... Brand doesnt matter much, gotto make sure u know what u r looking for ur car... As for cams, there r lotsa brands do specialises in them - HKS, Tomei, JUN, Toda n etc... They r all realiable 1 as long as u pair them correctly with ur needs n setting!!!

As for idling very much depends on setting...
