Need help on EG8 brakes info.

Hey guys .. anyone got specs on the EG8 brakes? How big is da rotors?
Reason i ask is becuz i want to upgrade brakes cuz they old and squeaky oredi. Instead of replacing with stock, i was thinking of upgrading to somthing better.
Got this one guy offer me to upgrade with EK9 brakes..complete fronts and rears. I want to know the specs of both my EG8 brakes and the EK9 so i can compare. Thank u very much for help :)

EK9 is one inch++ (roughly) bigger in terms of rotor size. With CTR discs, minimal wheel size you can use is 15 inch, 14 inch rims would not fit.

Does offset matter? I got 15" Slipstreams on right now which if i remember correctly is +43 offset. Hey if i go for the CTR brakes, can i change the calipers with an aftermarket one?

Hmm.. I'm not familiar with the slipstreams (Spoon rim lookalike, from what I know, but not sure.....), but if the offset is anything like the original spoon one, then I guess aftermarket calipers might fit (depending on what caliper though). I'm guessing spoon/nissin calipers?

I can confirm that 15" Spoon rims/Volk CE28/TE27 (all are 5hole rims, and you're likely to find the correct offset from the person/shop you bought it from) will clear Spoon calipers on CTR/ITR knuckles and brakes, but it's a very minimal clearance, but NOT too minimal. I think about 5mm from the surface of the caliper to the wheel spokes (again, some spoke designs may offer better clearance than 5mm)

I've heard that big brake kits like stoptech, wilwood needs greater offset than what normal rims allow (hello wheel spacers!). I haven't seen such setup around malaysia.. just in foreign magazines, so can't say for sure.

Depending on your slipstream offset, I can't say for sure. If it's like normal aftermarket wheels for from volk, spoon, etc, it should clear the spoon/nissin caliper just fine.
