Rear Disc Brake Querries

agreed on Sasuke said...different place might have different price...the best deal always come with the hardwork you spend....

thank u for the information sir :)
guess i can upgrade slowly part by part
since CTR's uses 5knuckles, guess i'll just stick to eg's

Well.. good luck whatever choice you make.

CTRs on EGs are great! They stop on a dime.. Now I'm not worried about hitting other people from behind, rather.. I worry about people hitting me from the back, if I had to brake quickly.

5 lug rims are harder to source though, and they aren't cheap compared to 4 lugs.

Stock EK9 is not that great also, but if u can upgrade the rotor and brake pad to after market parts like Endless, project U... u will steam!!! Of course if u can upgrade the caliber lagi cun. Focus on ur front wheel is enough lah. Only problem for 5 lugs is weight. I know most of the dragsters always use 4 lugs on their cars.

Happy upgradelah dude.

Compared to stock.. betterlah! Anyway, I think you're right about the pads improving braking power.. but as for the discs.. erm.. I don't think solah about increasing power... unless the project u discs are bigger. I do know they are lighter than the stock EK9 discs for less rotational drag.. but seriously.. I've hardly ever fully stepped on the brake, since its stopping power is great for the weight of the EG.

Anyway..for dragsters, less-weight is king.. If got two lugs, they will use that! ROFL! if no need brakes, even better! Bigger disc = weight!

For everyday use, 5 lug is better .. somemore, can use with new civic 2006 rims, I think (not sure if the offset is the same). I think the new hondas all will start using 5 lugs already... so aftermarket wise, might see 5 lugs becoming more common.

Where can fit? Usually big brake kits (like stoptech) will mention the minimum size of wheel you can use. 15 inch discs will need a minimum of 17" rims.

For CTR discs, the minimum size of rims you can use is 15. That's why there's so little clearance.

but i see at toyota yaris 's catalogue the spec is writen like that wor...
frt brake disc is 15"...but the 15" disc is diameter or perimeter of the disc?

if your disc is 15", then your rim is 15".. then the rim thickness lip is 0" in thickness ah? Sometimes catalogue also stretch the truth a bit (okay, maybe a lot!)

If the discs are 15", then need a rim about 2" bigger, since you need space for the rim's thickness, and also for caliper clearance.
