By: MX5MY- MX5 Club of Malaysia (MX5MY) gathered in Subang to
start their journey for a charity drive and dinner. This was dedicated to the
unfortunate victims of the recent Tsunami which lashed onto the shores of Asia
on Boxing Day taking many lives, injuring more, left people traumatised and
MX5MY members greatly saddened.

The eager beavers started arriving ahead of time in their gleaming roadsters
ready to roll. Each arrival was greeted warmly and merrily with wishes of the
New Year. One lady and her beautiful kids even came to see the convoy off and to
catch a glimpse of lovely two-door machines she would dearly loved to own one
day.

After a round of briefing by Colonel Elias, the Convoy Leader, the ladies and
gentlemen started their engines and were soon flying to the Subang toll plaza
headed by Louise. It was quite a sight seeing those beautiful roadsters; red,
silver, black, white, and a particularly exotic-coloured one darting down KESAS.
It was a rare sight causing many heads to turn and fingers to point excitedly.
“Convoy is looking good!”

In no time, the convoy had passed by the Sepang International Racing Circuit.
Instead of turning into the paddocks for a speed-trip down on the tracks, the
convoy stopped by a nearby watermelon stall… to pick up BC, who had made a 4
hour trip straight from Singapore to join in this very special journey with
MX5MY.

The convoy then weaved through the curvy country roads deftly and then the busy
towns of Sepang and Sungai Pelek, leaving the curious onlookers and town folks
awed by the unexpected flash of colours on parade. Thank goodness the cows did
not charge!

The skies were clear and blue; the air was salty and breezy as we caught our
first glimpse of the golden sands and beautiful calm sea. It was just the
weather to be doing something like this. The beach was untouched by the crashing
waves of destruction that ravaged other areas. However, it served as reminder of
the grim tragedy. A silent prayer was offered and everyone soon rallied around
to fulfil their earlier pledges for cash donations.
