The 1MZ you are talking probably double that - $5000 - $6000 ish - I spent over $7000. Maybe less if you cut corners. I replaced engine, ecu, complete custom wiring harness (3 days of labor and LOTS of parts), intake, header, exhaust, coolant lines, thermostat housing, tranny, custom axles, engnine mounts, custom dipstick tube, alternator, custom alternator bracket, starter, custom linkage, fuel line, fuel pump and regulator, labor, labor, labor, and labor. You could get away with using a non-turbo tranny and loose 40 lbs and the custom axles (and possibly easier linkage). And there's other things I haven't resolved or even addressed yet - like cooling, which is NOT adequate at the moment but works for autocross just fine.

You can make 400 hp from the 2ZZ, but you could make 600 hp on the 1MZ with the same mods and the 2ZZ will NEVER match the 1MZ in torque.

In short - the 2ZZ is about 10 times easier and half the cost.... and half the torque.

dmc2mk3 and I are the only ones I know of who have driven all of the 1ZZ, 2ZZ, and 1MZ Spyders. I wonder what Jeff thinks....

dude, MRS cannot slides sideways lo. Try drifting pun susah. Maybe trail braking boleh la (if got right setup). So how?? AE86 = 4drift fun ; MRS = project monster 2??? :lol:

BUT if keen on MRS, the community would welcome you. already one convert (SW20 to ZZW). or rather on the way.

You are using E153 gearbox right? and u mentioned its from MR2 turbo.. which one? SW20 3SGTE? Whats the drivetrain for the camry you got the engine from?
Is the engine code for the V6 u using, 2MZFE?
oh yea... erm did u have any probs with JPJ when transplanting that engine?
