It’s bound to be a melee when a combined over 1,500hp and century sprint times in the three second range are thrown into the ring for an all-out battle royale. Not only is bragging rights at stake here but more importantly, so is history as three contestants have nameplates that hark back to the 1960’s.
MotorTrend have put together a comparison test that should replace the current definition of the word ‘epic’ and ‘awesome’ in the dictionary. They have lined up the Nissan GT-R, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 to slug it out for the right to be the champ.
All those cars offer more than 500hp and century dashes in the three-second range, basically supercar performance at a portion of the coin you would normally dole out for performance like that.
Furthermore, they aren’t skimping on the luxuries either or are stripped out, lightened racers. Heated seats, Bose sound systems, satellite navigation and custom-coloured interiors are just some of the options on the order list that you can tick.
While most might think that the GT-R has it in the bag, we’re willing to bet that anticipation is getting the better of you and you just need to confirm if Godzilla really does take the crown. Don’t forget either that a previous MotorTrend comparison between the Mustang GT and BMW M3 yielded some very surprising results as the pony car was no more than a second behind the M3’s lap time.
Even if you don’t want to watch the whole thing, at least there’s a shorter video of the drag race between the three that should give a rough indication of just what these cars are made of.
