Hi guys! Long time since my last post. A few months ago my B18C R blew up. The cause was the crank broke at the pulley side. I've got a new engine now, and i want to make the new B18C R more reliable so that i can take it to the track as often as possible. I just need to know the necessary parts that need to be changed so that i can constantly rev it without it blowing up in my face AGAIN! I know double valve springs will help. My budget is around RM3k-4k. Thanks in advance for your advices! :)

Cureent mods on the car are...

Spoon ECU
Toda Type A cams
Mugen MHG

i can join your club too....hehee...mine just blew on track yesterday.....

my b18cr used for a long time...use LDp as my track last time till now

no prob at all

over rev, causing damage to the crank bearing, then piston no1 fail, hit my jun valves, so valves start coming out my exaust, best part, injectors still feeding fuel so cause a huge fireball out my exaust........damn stimm man!!!!...scared the living shits out of me when i saw fire hehe

izzit the bearing clearance n cam timing setting is wrong?

might be......but the failure is somewhere related to the crank

Guys,
That's why you shud use B16A block if wanna go full racing, this is due to the fact that B16A block would have shorter crank, and chances of your cranks to be broken during hi-rev can be minimised.

just my one-cent pinion

b 18cr crank is much better than a b16a even b16a is shorter

b18cr crank is well balance by honda factory and it has a better bearing than any other
b series engine

if u dont open up the bottom block it will last very long due to their quality control

i rev up till 9000rpm and down shift without any prob

blackhowling: i sold the whole thing not just the engine

Constantly high rev engine..

Never remove the rev cut.. Just incase.. If you red line is at 9000 RPM. Set your rev cut to 9500rpm or so..

Parts to upgrade for a better and safer rev..

1. After market bearing that will witstand higher heat.
2. Better valves springs (At least type-R).
3. Oil squiter.
4. Exhaust Temp gauge (Normal when a car is running lean or not enough fueling the ext.temp will rise. So it is some kind of warning)

hm... wat somemore.. tell you when i got it in mind.. Hehehehe

Maybe my engine blew because i balanced the crank. Damn it! Ok, now i'm not going to open up the engine already. I will just do a clean up, like a top overhaul or something, just to make it clean and new.

So, when u speak of bearings, is it for the crank?? Where can i get them and what brand? Price, roughly?
Also what is an oil squirter? Also, what will an oil pressure gauge warn me of?
