R-Magic is a Japanese tuning company that specializes in rotaries. I remember laying my eyes on their FD3S and SE3P demonstrators with their signature pink liveries in an issue of Super Street Magazine some years back. At that time, rotary engines especially in the FD3S chassis was my dream and still is.

This 4-rotor R26B normally aspirated engine transplant is featured in the July 2011 issue of Option2 magazine. As some would have known, the 787B Le Mans winning rotary engined racer also had a similar R26B engine by which the #002 car driven by Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler, and Bertrand Gachot went on to victory in the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Listen to the scream of the normally aspirated 4-rotor engine in its shakedown video below. My dream of having a normally aspirated 20B (not unlike the yellow FD3S driven by Tsuchiya in one of the Best Motoring International videos) in an FD3S remains..

Enjoy!

You wouldn't have that problem with a V8. Boys. All they care about is who's got the biggest engine. I'm a guy. It's in my DNA.

Yes, I agree. Mad Mike's rotary is still the best sounding machine. But nice article by the way.
