While Nobushige Kumakubo was just gently running in his new Team Orange Nissan Laurel drift machine the last time, he is starting to push the beast a little more with the opening round of the D1GP coming up soon.

Last weekend's shakedown tests were followed up by this new video that shows Kumakubo starting to take the Laurel sideways. Nonetheless, he still is not pushing it completely as he gently opened the taps on the 1,000hp available from the monstrous RB26 in the engine bay.

With the first round of the D1GP around the corner this weekend at Autopolis, Kumakubo and the rest of the team are desperately trying to get everything in order for the car to run perfectly. So far the biggest issue has been the interior filling up with thick tyre smoke, something that was to be expected with a thousand ponies on tap. Rest assured the team is working on it and trying their best to get the car to the grid at Autopolis this weekend.
