Former F1 champion Jenson Button blasted his F1 hampionship winning ’08 spec McLaren MP4/23 on Australian V8 Supercar famed track, Bathrurst and broke the previous fastest lap set by Craig Lowndes in a V8 supercar at the Bathurst 1000 last year. It was able to top the previous speed record by a whooping 17 seconds!

Lowndes time record of 2:06.80 at last years event was set in a V8 supercar, last year. The run set in a McLaren, was 1:49 seconds. This shows that Lowndes isn't too far away, considering that a V8 Supercar is less nimble than a F1 car. And he is definitely still a very capable driver, since its a very small gap away from Buttons best time.
