hii everywan......im a new member and dunno much about modifying........

I have a 1996 Honda Civic EK2, the one with a 1.3 liter engine and automatic transmission.
The car is stock for the moment and im thinking of modifying it. How much would it roughly cost if i were to put in stuffs like

* a B18C engine + Trasmission from an Integra Type R (would it be JPJ
approved?)

* Stock B18C braking system or a Brembo Brake set

* Custom Exhaust System(the wan with the straight pipe n stuff)

* a Mugen Meter Panel (Shows a top speed of 240km/h)

* an EK9 dashboard with dual airbags

* a 75HP ZEX nitrous kit (is it safe?)

For the B18C, does it come with ABS(Antilock Brake System) or TCS(Traction Control System)?Are those units sold seperately? What are the prices roughly?

Does the transmission come standard with LSD? If a Short Shifter were added, would there be a big difference?

Do any workshop do front end conversion as i want to convert to an EK9 front end (Lamps+fenders+Hood+bumper) or it has to be done at a chop shop? any good chop shop out there? (a chop shop that has lotzz of EK hatchback parts and does a good job)...

If i want to tune-up the B18C to around 240HP, is it practical as im a daily driver? how much does it cost to tune it up?

Another thing is that the rubber linings (on the roof, around the windshield and on the doors) have dark spots on them and at some parts and the black colour is a bit faded while on other places, the rubber has shrunk a bit. My friends think its due to the morning dew and our beautiful sunny weather.
Where could i find replacement parts for those rubber linings?

Lastly, where could i find a shop that could custom make seat brackets? coz im thinking of lowering the seat by 5cm....saw it on the other forums from overseas...

Hi Fren,

Based on what you've written down, you better have a lot of money otherwise you wont be able to do even half of the list over there.
You had better ask around for the JPJ approval first as recently they are quite particular about changing engines
 
bro...

i wud not like to discourage u.. but i dont think that installing B18CR to your 1.3 chassis is feasible as the JPJ regulation on engine transplant should not exceed 25% from the original engine capacity..

getting a B16A or B16B would do just good. U still can install the B18CR gbox as well plus the roadtax is cheaper. :)

the rest of the EK-related questions, i leave it to our EK sifu Mr. Hattech-V. he would be very glad to answer all queries of yours. (mie aku dah upkan ko, ko kena blanja aku makan ni hehe)

bro...from 1.3 to b18c...no way it'll get approved bro...

opt for B16a or since u got lotsa money...opt for B16b...

b16b ctr conversion is 12K minimum. That's just the halfcut. No bodyparts included.
Front bodyparts is roughly 2.9K to 3.1K and Rear bodyparts 1.8K to 2K. Condition of da bodyparts r all used. Interior parts 7K at least if u wanna convert fully to EK9.
Workmanship for conversion is 1k ~1.5K depends on how well u know da workshop. Prepare extra 1K at least to change those timing belts, sparkplugs, aircon beats and etc.

Structure design is about da same but EK9 has given extra chassis strengthening which r not found in EK2,3 n 4. Get urself a hyperREV mag then u will know da difference between a ek2,3,4 and a EK9. Cheerio.
 
Basically, the hope IS there.. just the matter how willing are you to spend to get there...

- I suggest u put a EK9 B16B engine on it. With 13k I can quote u with installation. Item ready stock.

- Get EK9 5 lugs (Same as DC2). Item ready stock.

- No need custom, get complete JASMA exhaust system. Limited stock, PM or sms me.

- Later lah, until now I stilll haven't found one. Ready 2k.

* an EK9 dashboard with dual airbags
- Near 2k can get facelift climate and dashboard. In stock soon.

* a 75HP ZEX nitrous kit (is it safe?)
- Really bad for ur engine. No much road in KL can use NOS.

- ABS normally will not working unless u can get complete system. Wiring normally cut in half cut.
- No TCS, get after market. U plan to use it on track meh?

- All TypeR gearbox come with helical LSD.
- TypeR short shifter will not make big different, just slightly improve ur gear shifting. Unless u get after market short shifter, then more difference.

- I do lot's of EK conversion. Can arrange workshop or even DIY for front conversion. All parts I have.

- B16B also can reach that level. Can use for daily driving for sure. Spare at least 20k-30k.

- PM or Call me. I have them also. All rubber can be replaced.

- What seat is that? EK3 stock seat? 5cm??? Stick the chair on the floor without railing may be can. I think typo 5mm is it? If Recaro I recommend u to use DC2 railing, it's lower by about 5mm compare to EK9 railing.

240hp can...240whp....NA ......Hmmmmm if can oso not drivable in KL traffic. Idle with wild cams probably sounds like a Harley.
