I came across a few options of HU.
Kenwood, Pioneer and JVC.
I need 1 which is less sensitive towards CD-R/RW.
i went to a few shops n some say kenwood is the 1 with balance between bass, clarity and less sensitive.
users of kenwood n pioneer, can share ur experience?
pioneer deh-5750mp, kenwood model 4033/4533

thanks!

DEH 5750... yummmm  have not used it but have been playing around with it. Lots of function to make less items

yo dude,
the guys at the shop i visit in ampang area paired kenwood kdc-mp4533 n infinity 452i for my old LE... i wonder if p-rated cds r ok with kenwood.
they bash pioneer for not being as clear as kenwood (SQ)..
my only worry is the lense pick up capability as my setup wouldnt create any much SQ difference i think...

I would say they are almost similar, just choose the one you like more....

guys guys..
any more opinion?
i m currently given the choice of Kenwood KDC-5029MP and Pioneer DEH-P5750MP at the same price...
in terms of function, both seems to b the same..

xenothrix, I dunno about you but unless it's the Pioneer P9, I wouldn't even consider it :D Anyway, I'd choose pioneer over Kenwood anyday.

For non-sensitive players, have a look at Clarion. My faithful clarion has never skipped in the entire half year I've been using this thing and has never had any problems with fake CDs, burnt CDs, CDRWs, CDRs, MP3 CDs, WMA CDs, everything. All can play without any problem. Not sensitive at all.

i'm impressed your faithful Clarion never had problems with "fake" CDs and "burnt" CDs

Can you tell me the price for both HU? ML Audio at puchong give me RM850 include installatiob for Kenwood KDC-5029MP.

aiikks...
i hv mine installed already.
now a pioneer kaki.. paired with 4" mtx audio component..for the time being.
my rear 6x9 is still pending coz 1 rosak. hvnt install another pair i hv at home.
honestly, i feel, for normal usage just a pair of decent 6x9 is fairly vocal. the 4" doesn't help much.

magnesium:
the shop offered me rm680 including installation. i picked pioneer over kenwood partly coz of the more fancy display. on top of that, i still hv more faith in pioneer for playing garbage cd.
kenwood is a nice option if u need to jump songs often, the remote is far more feature packed than pioneer's card size remote. 1 of the features i like on kenwood's remote is the direct file select option using the number pad. according the shop, kenwood offers clearer human voice.

I'm a Pioneer 5650MP user. Been using Pioneer all my life and i must say they've not given me any sort of problem when playing various cd's. I'd say the Pioneer is definitely a good looking player with decent sound.

However, if i ever buy a new HU, i'd try the Alpine ones. Most if not all ICE installer says that Alpine dishes out better SQ as compared to its price range equivalent.

Last time, my friend was using Kenwood KDC-MP3029, can't read most of the pirated cds, then he change to Sony, no more problem.

Clarion's got the most sensetive HU in the market (not sure about the lower end models la).... [:D] IMHO for HU around RM600, they almost sounds the same to me....

Anyway forget about the rear or 6X9 if you want serious ICE or nice sounds....

i m quite satisfied with the pioneer.
however, i wonder if addition of HU, 2 x 4" speakers, central lock+alarm system would cause the car to respond differently. i felt the car's pickup is not as quick as b4. i m driving a toyota LE..

Calvin : That's why ! :D Go HXD2 la weii!

Xenothrix, you're kidding right? HU + Speakers + Central locking has nothing to do with your car performance la. Unless you got amps and power hungry stuff that's draining your battery and making your Alternator work overtime, or your sub woofer is so big and heavy that its weighing down your boot?

izso,
haha...it was kind of a heavy right foot syndrome b4 i got those stuff installed..
just a false mental effect...
