Hi All, Hyundai officially announced Hyundai Coupe 2007 model at Paris Motor Show yesterday. The exterior look just like the Concept Hyundai announce at GuangZhou Motor Show.

The Hyundai Coupe (otherwise known as the Tiburon in the U.S. and Asia) may have launched officially at the <!--StartFragment -->Guangzhou Motor Show in China earlier this year, but that didn't stop Hyundai from putting it on its stand at the Paris Motor Show to show off Hyundai's 2007 front-wheel drive sports coupe.

John grabbed these pictures from the peanut gallery of Hyundai's stand, and according to him, the Coupe wasn't even out at the show until the second day of press preview. Earlier in the year as spy shots of the vehicle surfaced, this was initially thought to be the 2008 model, but Hyundai has since corrected us with publicity information indicating that it's the 2007 model.

Fans of earlier models will note that the body style hasn't changed much, with the exception of harder angles on the hood and sides, new headlights, a fatter and flatter nose and cool vender vents. Under the body panels, the vehicle has changed even less -- Hyundai is still offering the same 1.6 and 2.0 liter four-cylinders and 2.7L V6 under the hood, the first of which will likely not be available in the U.S.
H
yundai has freshened up the interior, however, with blue LED instrumentation, extendable sun visors and other goodies.

Eye catching new exterior styling innovations
The Hyundai Motor Company today announces a deeply thought out and meaningful facelift for the best selling Hyundai Coupe. Since it's launch in September 2001, the Hyundai Coupe (Tiburon in the USA and Asia) has captured the imagination of sporting drivers all over the world. In fact it has sold some 221,708 models worldwide of which 73,670 have been
sold in Europe. The new facelift effectively introduces the
second evolution of the Coupe, and is designed and destined to capture even more fans.

The styling of the original coupe was a corner stone of its overall
attraction, gaining rave reviews in the leading motoring journals of the world.
The restyling preserves all of the magic of the earlier model, yet adds a
dynamic new stance. The whole emphasis has been placed upon upgrading
the modern and sporty style. Starting from the front, a new air intake with
integrated fog lamps is topped by sleek new headlamp packaging that
projects the dynamic spirit of the car.

Newly designed front side trim, together with new alloy wheels further
add to the distinctive individuality of the side profile.

- Standard equipment includes
- Fog lights, halogen projector headlights, clear rear light clusters,
centre mounted stop light, door handles in body colour, windscreen.

Optional wheels include
- 16x6.5 inch alloy wheels with P205/55R16 tyres or 17x7inch alloy wheels with
P215/45R17 tyres, depending on model and specification.
At the back new transparent light clusters are moulded into the curve of
the upper rear bumper, giving a solid but dynamic aspect. Further thought has
gone into the shaping of the exhaust pipes and the way they interact with the
increased aerodynamics of the black lower bumper panel. Altogether the rear
treatment gives a much stronger impression of aerodynamics.

Dynamic new interior refinements
A whole generation of sporting drivers can attest to the comfort and
convenience of the Coupe interior. The special feeling begins with the easy
access through the wide opening doors, and exceptional comfort from the
seats were designed and built. Inside the new Coupe the emphasis is firmly
upon extending this well-refined sporting ambience. New blue LED
instrument and controls lighting increases clarity, style and visibility, while
reducing glare and eye-strain to an absolute minimum. A redesigned centre
fascia, with pronounced metallic elements, including restyled ventilation
vents, adds both sporting flair and increased convenience.
The automatic transmission centre console has also been redesigned for
extra style and user friendliness. Here again, subtle metallic elements add to
the sporting nature. Extendable sun visors with integrated vanity mirrors
replace the previous non-extendable items. All of these details add up to a
new freshness, fully exploiting the well-proven ergonomics that helped
establish the Coupe as a long distance high performance driver's car.

EQUIPMENT
The Hyundai reputation for superbly equipped cars is further strengthened
by an equipment list which includes (according to model and territory):-
manual A/C, auto air control with outside temperature display and air quality
control, remote keyless entry, centre console with storage and armrest,
illuminated cigarette lighter, cup holders, map pockets in doors, aluminium
pedals, tilt steering, vanity mirrors, map reading lights, cruise control, heated
electric exterior mirrors, power windows, remote fuel filler, bonnet and hatch
releases, trip computer, tilt and slide glass sunroof.

SAFETY
In terms of passive safety, the Coupe features a strategically reinforced
and highly rigid unitary construction, with front and rear crumple zones, side
impact protection, and energy-absorbing bumpers. Inside, there are
depowered driver and front passenger front airbags, with front seat-mounted
side airbags and impact absorbent steering column. The front seatbelts have
pre-tensioners and force limiters, and the outboard rear positions feature
LATCH (lower anchors and tethers for children), for easier child seat mounting.

BASIC SPECIFICATIONS
The Hyundai Coupe front suspension features Macpherson struts with
subframe, coil springs, anti-roll bar, and gas-filled hydraulic shock absorbers.
While the rear suspension is Dual-link, coil springs, anti-roll bar and gas-filled
hydraulic shock absorbers. Gas-filled shock absorbers are used throughout to
give extra control and precision to the ride quality. Steering is power-assisted
rack and pinion. 11 inch ventilated discs at the front and 10.2 inch solid rear
discs are controlled by 4-channel ABS. ESP is optional.
For Europe three Euro 4 compliant engines are available, 1.6 DOHC 16v
(77kW/143N.m), with iron block and alloy head, electronic fuel injection with
variable manifold technology. 2.0 DOHC 16v (105kW/186N.m) with CVVT
(Continuous Variable Valve Technology) and the 2.7 V6 (123kW/245N.m). 5-
speed manual transmission is available on the 1.6 and 2.0 litre models, with 6-
speed manual on the V6. 4-speed automatic transmission with Hyundai
Shiftronic as H-matic is available on the 2.0 and the V6.
2.7 V6 Engine
Displacement : 2,656 cc
Max. Power (kW/rpm) : 167 / 6,000

At the top of this range the well-proven Hyundai Delta 2.7 litre V6 still
represents a significant milestone in terms of sporting performance. With
aluminium block, heads and sump, sintered con rods and Hyundai's "Non
Twist" patented crankshaft, it provides 123kW @ 6,000 rpm, and 245N.m
torque @ 4,000 rpm.

The engine has a narrow V configuration uses a combination of belt and
chain drive to the valves and ancillaries, and features latest generation ECU. It
also meets all current emission standards and depending on the sales
territory, carries up to 5 years guarantee.

The power is transmitted through an 6-speed gearbox. It features a dual
mass flywheel to minimise torque fluctuation and double cone
synchronisation to ease shifting on first and second gears, advanced friction
materials are also incorporated. The result is smooth precision shifting,
perfectly fitted to the relaxed sporting nature of the range-topping Coupe.

The 4-speed microprocessor controlled H-matic, which is available with
the 2.0 CVVT engine also complements the Delta V6. This shiftmatic
transmission allows the driver to choose between fully automatic or the more
actively sporting mode of clutchless shifting.

Frankly, disappointed front bumper, the first CVVT model bumper (James' bumper) is much more nicer and agreesive, IMHO. But the 3D taillight is a plus. (I always like 3D tail light, hehe)
