Hmm.. why mostly RB20?

the RB30 engine was developed by Nissan Australia for use in Holdens such as the VLs so when people wanna convert auto Nissans they can use Holden VL gearboxes of the same era which cost 1/2 the price ;)

yep its common down under but very hard to get in japan.

models

RB30E - skyline R31 and commodore VL

RB30ET (turbo) - commodore VL only...

all SOHC's

yeah... not worth the hassle even if transplanting a RB25DET head to it.

better stick to a stock RB25/26DETT.

Efini,

there is a good article on building an RB30DET here... check it out!

Also, as far as parts go, there are loads out there in Japan - you name it, they have it. All depends on what you are looking for. Lemme know what you want and i can see what i can dig up. If you buy Option or Drift Tengoku then you can get an idea as to what i mean.

RB30s can also be found in South Africa. They have loads there... getting one is another story. Well another option is to go to the middle east or central america and find yourself am RB24S - single cam 2.4 litre carbie!!! These were in A31s over there and they were called Laurel Altimas as opposed to Cefiros. That block can also be used with a twin cam head, but again, as with the RB30E block, cooling channels may not line up and the timing belt covers (upper and lower) will need some work.

once again i must thank you loads, zephuros.
well, yea i do buy option mags, but prob is, im a chinese who doesnt understand chinese

rb20 head on rb25 block would be the best. With rb20 head you can use gtr injectores. and rb25 gearbox is stronger than gtr gearboxes. But for a cefiro, get an sr20. Since the floorplan is the same as a silvia, the lighter bloack transforms the cefiros handling into the same as an s13.
