If csl was running on stock ecu settings....it can't be running too lean right. Stock settings tend to run a bit on the rich side for safety's sake. 9-10k's rpm???? What's the redline and rev cut on these Renesis engines????:confused_smile:

I believe lennon is right. Ah Choy from H&S purely rebuilds but offers no tuning. Millenium is good for tuning, He's been doing it for years. What ecu do you plan to run CSL? Lennon- Another Ah Choy??

RX8.... their leaness and richness doesn't affect the engine that much due to no turbo.... but indeed it will reduce the life of the car due to apex seal over heat when running too lean.

duno anything about their rev cut.. but i saw on motoring dvd that gan-san pushes the 8 to most of the time 9k RPM on the mazda laguna seca speedway. even after the beep.. he still pushes through.. shift at 9K RPM.

Yes, I do trash my car like nobody business. But only when there is less car on straight road. Now I probably need to pay for the price by buying a new engine due to most of the parts got damage, from the rotor to the block.

Let's say I change a new engine, do I need to put a EMU on and get tuned in Millenium?

Or, put an RX7 engine on?

Once tried 10k. After the battery changed, never get that point. Mostly 9.5k cut.

ECU stock or not, unknown. But the TREC thing did wired on it. Greddy air induction (with removed the ori air box. RE super Dolphin. That's all I know.

usually, if it's tuned by a tuning house like RE-Amemiya or R-Magic, there will be a sticker on ECU....

I suggest you to get a stand-alone management such as Microtech LT-10 or something similar . I'm opposed in using E-Manage because i've seen enough share of cars blowing infront of my face either to bad installation/fake e-manage or god knows what.

Vaz-Maz not good at Tuning larrrr...... They f*cked-up my previous FD 10 years ago.... Sent it to Edmund back in 1997 when i blew my first engine...... Up till 1999, a few more engines later.....They still couldn't f*ckin get it right !!!! Cost me a hell of a lot of money.......

(started sending my Rx7 to him while he was still in Batu Pahat..... Up-till he moved shop to Jln Ros Merah...... Never been to his bigger current Factory sized shop....... Don't really have confidence in their abbilities)

This was 1 of the HEADACHES i had when i was tryin to decide whether i wanted another RE car middle of last year.....The problem was......Getting a mechanic that i could rely on to do a good job shud the unthinkable happen.......But, i missed the RE buzz that i got soooooo used to back in the 90's........... That trumped everything else...... I'm sooo hooked on the RE engines........ Love em to shreads.....Literally.....Hahahaa

Could also be the types of engine oils we're using in our engines. Mineral oil all the way for me 15W40 Motul. So far no oil level drop at all. I do not use Synthetic oils. Every 3000kms change oil and filter. Every 10000ks change fuel filter and plugs. I guess putting an oil pressure and fuel pressure gauge does help you monitor your engine. Beware of using any fuel additives to bring your petrol octane rating up. Some of em are not suitable for 2 stroke engines. I know RE's are 4 strokes but it does run like a 2 stroke engine. It could damage RE seals. Just my precaution though. One more thing....always warm the car up before thrashing the tits off it.:regular_smile:

stand alone ecu price probably similar to a BOT or compressor kit.

i think if u need more power.... put in RX7 seals like lennon did....
but get a tuned ECU.... you'll be driving like no body's business anytime u like that last for longer time.

BOT ... ask lennon... he has hell alot of experience on them .... you won't go wrong if u listen to him.

Sure boh? I thought is something around 5 digits on the parts itself. Another +-RM1k for tuning. If only RM4-5k for Microtech, EMU seems to be not worth it. I'm not too sure about the price. I forgot where I saw it or maybe different brand.
