but why the extention??...more flow to the injections?
I would have thought that they had bigger injectors put in so require a bit more space than usual? Cant really tell from the pics whats running on the inlet section nearer to the engine.
My logic behind why I think it has a good flow and why they designed the inlet plenum longer, as most other race engine is because by having the inlet plenum further from the engine, it would not warm up the air inside the plenum as compared to it being nearer to the engine. Like, if the plenum was shorter, it makes it closer to the engine right? Closer and under high performance applications, engine will get hotter than usual. This will cause the air inside the plenum to be warmer than outside air.
So to optimize the temperature going in.. they put it further back, so they can have cooler air inside the plenum.
But then again.. air goes in a really quick rate.. Not sure how much diffference it would make..
