Electric fuel pump on Carb

Hi..

Anyone here using electrical fuel pump on their carb engine?
I heard that it gives better, constant & stable fuel flow.. & good
for drifting or track racing as the fuel flow wont overflow like
mechanical fuel pump. If u're using one, what type are u using?
I'm running on a 1.3 carb engine from toyota. :)

Not necessary unless ur mechanical fuel pump is faulty or cannot provide fuel for your heavy mods.

If u r using standard carb, better stick to OE one.

am using electronic fuel pump on my carb, more fuel to pistons and faster response when pedal is depressed.

fstrader, it cannot be a VR4 pump. Car fuel pumps run at very low pressure, max is 4psi. EFI fuel pumps run at 5psi above.

fitting a EFI fuel pump to a carb will flood the carb almost immediately and i dont think the car can be started at all.

i think what you are using is the old Mitsubishi diaphragm type of fuel pump for carbs. They are readily available in chop shops.

curious, please forgive my ignorance..

if the EFi fuel pumps are running at "5psi and above" (but how high?), how could it possibly maintain at least 80 psi in the fuel rail?

Maybe your "5psi and above" covers up to 80psi as well?

aircool, that digital pump is very hard to find in chop shops....maybe these kinda things extinct edi :lol:

a question here.
for a small capacity efi engine,which is better.
1) a pump that is high pressure but lower ltr/hr lets say at 20psi 50liter/hr
2) a pump that is low pressure but high ltr/hr lets say at 8psi 80liter/hr

or is it just a lppl comparison. :huh:

no get from net la,i bought it in spore last time because want to put inside my kancil l2 as a additional external pump.
but i found it means for carb car.so maybe will put in my mother iswara after i install the high cam which i m trying to selling.
nobody want the cam so i myself use lo. B)
