I have an E30 with standard rear sway bar that I want to upgrade for flatter cornering and oversteer bias.

Anyone know the specs for the M3 rear bar, where I can get one or an aftermarket one locally in KL? Available from Australia and other places but obviously more expensive and a hassle to import.

MazToy, stock e30 rear sways are 12mm thick, M3 or m-tech sways are 14.5mm. Rears are quite hard to find cos they are quite sought after. You can try aftermarker types such as eibach or whitelines (Hokomoto-Batu Caves) or you can get Ultra racing to custom make them for you, but you'll have to give them a sample first......

Thanks Zaskar I'll look into what you have suggested.

Cheers, Bill

if u choose to fabricate it..you may not be able to obtain the same stiffness or flexural strength of the originals..as these two parameters are proportionally dependent on its material yield strength and modulus of elasticity..is better to match thek with the eibach ones or the original m-tech ones..i have the 14.5mm ones..but cant really feel the difference unless you have to drive your car real hard into the corners..then again the stabilizer links or attachment cleats may give way since its weaker than the bar itself..toying with the car suspension is really complcated..difficult to get it right..with so many mechanics to consider..make sure you have the correct correct tyre specs..plays a very important factor in the car handling..

Thanks for the comments, I understand what you are saying.
