DC5 Advice

hi all, tot of getting a dc5, need some advice on the vin plates.

ive attached a vin plate of a car i looked at recently. the car is black in color and the dealer claims it's a 04' make. so i got a few questions here:
1. does "dc5-2200506" indirectly/directly indicate the manufac yr/serial?
2. does it inidicate anywhere the color of the make?
3. what does "-X -S" stands for?

a bit confused on these vin plates thingy :hmmmm:

i'm not entirely sure but maybe yks228 can help me on this..for the 04 model (facelifted) onwards, the serial no. should starts from DC5-23XXXXXX. pls correct me if im wrong.

instead of S6M4 mine is S6M5. Anyone knows what this meant?

one more future owner oF DC5 Type R...keep em coming!

subcon: the black one i saw is 04' pre facelift, which may explain why it starts with 22XXXXXX.

facelift 04 dc5 shud be around rm155k+
viewed em few mnths ago with around the price.

That's still kind of mahal la...
Sorry for the dumb question but what are the differences of the facelift already?

Prasath:

Full Engine from Jun i heard was about 50K to 60K .........................

Engine Rebuilds, from my experience, will set you back at least ..... 5K , assuming you change the bearings, seals , and rubber parts ........ possibly more if you get itchy in the middle and want to mod the parts during the rebuild

Go to Jerry (122) if you need to source external bodyparts for your car ......... he know's where's all the good shit in KL

NFS:
what can I say? the RBC intake manifold is proven technology.
you can check with the reputable shops around in KL/Pj, or ask some of our more reputable users such as Mr. Loo (dcloo) or Terry (undermine) ......

even in America, they're getting about at least 10hp from this simple bolt on application....... higher if you go for the porting options and/or ceramic coated version.

so far, i'm quite happy with the RBC (CL7/9) intake manifold ....... except ...... that there are always ..... a little tradeoff ..... if you know what i mean!

The facelifted versions apparently:

1) as terry mentioned, the lights, are different.

2) the bumpers .......... front and rear to accomodate for the new lights, and please notice that the rear bumper doesnt slant down, or rather, it seems to potrude out.,

3) i heard the synchro's between the 3rd & 4th and the 5th & 6th have been ......... changed to semi carbon material, or some stuff like that.

4) i heard the rear suspension height was dropped another few mm or something.......

5) dashboard meters look different

6) ECU is very slightly different ...... needs additional harness apparently if modding it to hondata

and few other minor minor stuff i cant recall offhand...........

but the main things are still the same. engine power output. general outlook , etc.

Hi all DC5R owners,

I 've booked one ITR as well. Now working out the loan. Regarding the vin plate, how to check the engine code? The one I booked is '04 facelift version. Hopefully can get the loan and join your TT. :burnout:

Engine Code for the K20A , if not mistaken, should be etched on the lower right or lower left of the Intake Manifold (I/M)

might be a bit hard and a bit dark, so you may need a flash-light to locate it.

......... but you don't need a loan to join us all for a drink
all nice guys here ......... they wont bite ........... too hard

Someone told me the ENGINE code starts from 35XXXXX for K20a Type R
