Converting 4G92P add Turbo.

Hi guys new here.

I am mod. my car using my old 4G92P by adding Turbo. saw and old advert in Motoring mag year 1996 where Proton Pert have this kit for about 10K. The kit include:
1. Manifold and down pipe.
2. Turbin TD03 I think
3. All the piping and Intercooler
4. SAFC the old model 5 button.
5. BOV
So for about 10K better get halfcut, but then only Mitsu that can be use 4G93T (JPJ new regulation problem). So thinking of using the old engine add turbo equipment from GSR and use piggyback let say SAFC2 or E-manage. how much the cost.

1. GSR manifold and down pipe
2. TD04 with waste gate.
3. Intercooler VR4 or the small GSR intercooler
4. SAFC or E Manage.
5. Low compresion piston.

Running at 0.6-0.7 bar. LPT. Do i need to put additional Injector (need to use E manage). Any other part that I miss Out????

from my friend experience...
he turboed 4g92p sohc
all items r 2nd/chop shop price...

1. GSR manifold and down pipe....150-200
2. TD04 with waste gate.....350-450
3. Intercooler VR4 or the small GSR intercooler....100-500
4. SAFC or E Manage.....550-1.5k
5. Low compresion piston....can search for gsr piston...100-400

6. metal head gasket...250-400
7.injectors.....100
8.external fuel pump...100-250
9.adjustable fuel regulator...110-250
10. adj cam pulley (option)

thats i rremember....

Take the opportunity now. 1.6L to 2.0L is still legal. If you have at least 15" rims and an adjustable coilovers already then prepare around RM5k to RM7k (this amount is without halfcut) for proper and complete conversion to VR4 200/220.

4g92p play n/a la... save more n no need worry about maintainence n jpj kacau... spend ur money stage by stage so u dont have to put out all at once...

penghanyut - 1.6 to 2.0 is still legal r now? having doubts about playing n/a or turbo now... too bored with turbo ady...

Hi thanx for the feedback.

I think i will use the old engine and add turbo kitt. Budget is ok for 6K. By half cut also got problem, first the people that have deal with jpj will know1. Transplant with out permisiion Rm150.00. Write a letter to JPJ for kebenaran will say. Must not do this and that and what so ever new rulling from JPJ is 25% increase of cc. Conferm.
Increase of BHP they dyno the car and increase of hp (there is culculation cc and hp). Suspension, stering box, carb to efi (1.3/1.5)and etc etc. So many thing and when the puspakom said the car is unfit for road use, you cannot reneu ur roadtax anymore. So need kaki to go in and out puspakom & JPJ. Unless u are mod Honda with honda engine. Mitsu with mitsu engine. Proton is proton and cannot use other engine than that. So thats why willing to put in Turbo kit than Transplant. If JPJ kacau it is still legal to have add on turbo kit as there is no rulling on adding turbo or sc to engine.
