hey lads just wondering if u's could help me with my problem! ur gona find this 1 very odd. i have a 1994 daihatsu charade detomaso thats got a slight miss in the engine it only occurs when ur driving and it only happens when ur turning left whenever the throttle is down once u straightn it up again away it goes. any1 with any information would b a great help cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmm.. and what the fuel level when dis happens? r u still using the espri fuel tank? does it only happens when u make a fast corner? gimme a call at 0163571811 IF u still have dis kinda problem wit full tank / half tank.

so, back to ur probem.. what did u mean by miss? in my observation, if dis miss happens only during hard left corner, den it probably because fuel starvation. maybe u can give summore explanation on this problem, ya :)

xtremeleo's pretty right on this one, it most probably is fuel starvation.

Hmm...if it was a carb engine can diagnose it almost straightaway. But the concept of the internal combustion engine is the same be it carb or fuel injection so in a carb you can say:

1. Air filter isn't sitting on carb properly causing excess air to enter when turning causing the engine to miss
2. Float chamber emptying too fast (fuel filter blocked or sticking needle)
3. Loost carb/intake manifold mounting

So what's similar here? Err...since it only happens during left turns then something is loose somewhere. You mentioned only while you're accelerating thru the corner. How about if you're taking a left turn but got your foot off the throttle?

Oops...was working on the theory that something is loose and on left turns more air is being let into the inlet manifold. Hehe, forgot about the fuel starvation but will wait for your reply first. :)

hey lads thanks for the replys i thought it mite of been something to do with starvation of fuel so i changed the fuel pump ( had a spare 1 i got off my other charade 1.6) changed fuel filter and checked the fuel pipes make sure they were intact. I run the car bout quarter of a tank of petrol. Il have a check just to make sure nothing is loose, good point it mite b drawn in air from somewere. p.s parts r hard to come by over here as iv never seen another detomaso on the road so im limited to wot i can do to the car. I c u's have loads of parts for them over there. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice car you have there. hehe I've got this thing for small cars with nice body stylings. heh heh
