Has anyone does this before ? My Sony player has an auxilliary input but i believe i need an adapter and also the cable to connect to my iPod, can anyone shed some lights on how much this will cost + installation. On the overall im quite vague on this topic, so perhaps any pro here can discuss it in detail ? Thanx !

for the Sony BUS, i believe it's connector similar to the alpine AI-NET Bus.

You can actually fashion a connector off a CD-Changer data cable. DIY-style, would cost you RM50++ odd. Not sure if the latest sony specifications have changed, but that should do it.

Otherwise, you can opt for third party breakout boxes which plug into the changer input. Anywhere from 150 onwards.

You mentioned auxillary inputs already available, perhaps you should state which model you are using for more help to be available.

thank you for your reply, really appreciate it !

im using sony cdx-ca850x, quite an old model already by its standard

i guess the connector will do just fine right, RM50++ not so bad , any good place to recommend ?

Some of the specs i manage to gather

When you take some of Sony’s top engineers and ask them to break all the rules, you get a CD receiver like no other. The new L3 design features no buttons or keys! Instead, all deck controls are through an intuitive, wireless joystick that has it’s own distinctive "feel." The CDX-CA850X’s flip-down face features a gorgeous 4-color dot matrix display that’s extremely bright for easy-viewing even in direct sunlight. The CDX-CA850X features three sets preamp outputs for total upgrade flexibility. Sony’s new Dynamic Soundstage Organizer (DSO) helps widen the soundstage and give awesome stereo presentation for even door mounted speakers. Sony’s SSIR-EXA tuner offers exceptional sensitivity of all of your favorite radio stations (you can also name those stations!) This unit also features Custom File, which gives you the ability to name CDs and display the titles as text on the dot matrix display. Includes a second handheld remote for backseat DJs!

If you want to D.I.Y. Get the datasheet or service manual for your player and changer. Then, maybe we can figure out together :)
