Any idea to make a car more soundproof?

Was just wondering how can i reduce the amount of noise while i am driving my 20 year old daihatsu..
any DIY method other than using the MAT that are sold in the market?

charade mostly the noise come in from the back (exhaust), door (wind noise) and firewall (engine)

Install sound absorbing mat at these place will definately reduce ur daihatsu's noise :)
