Hi guy,i'm a permanent resident in new zealand and was planning to come back nxt year,if i was to bring my car back..will i still get charged a very high tax...

The tax will be the same and 1 of the term for AP is permanently back for good.If i`m not mistaken, last 10years back, there is tax exclusion for ELITE working outside Malaysia in effort to boost country development.They entitle to get 2 AP per person~
Now no more, only during our Ex prime :Tun Dr M....heee. But if you can get AP for bring back the car,should say still worth it....just prepare a lot CASH~

bro with all do respect..but that's 2003 my man :) .. i'm very sure the rules has changed now,i've heard ppl saying it's not worth it bring a car bck ..so that's what i wanted to confirm..is it worth it or just buy a skyline in malaysia ..by the way i'm up in auckland ..cheers bro ..

bro,i just shipped a car back from UK 2 weeks ago.

I know ALL the procedure from A to Z but too lazy to repeat it all again. Including how to calculate tax.

Yeah suppose get it if your Visa is Professional Working Visa for at least 1 year there.If follow family go there then your not...try refer MITI website,there stated clearly the condition for Car AP.
AP is just a permit but doesn`t mean tax exclusion....:)

i dont think u'll be charged that much. after all, it depends on the age of the car u r bringing in.
the kastam have a list of market price for each model of cars. they will charge u tax based on that list. but if you are bringing an old car, i think it depends on their 'budi bicara'.

I thought you already bring back 1 car?hee....300%-400% tax is before NAP for >2.6L. I paid for 250% tax for 2.5L car on 2004.Here is new tariff NAP 2006-2020....unless there is new amendment on Bajet 2010.

nah bro .. i suppose to bring back one last year .. but didnt get around to it.. so now i have just sold my r33 .. and have my r32,so i'm planning to bring that bck .. or i might just bring it in as a competition car .. and buy a road regal r33 over there ..
