hi guys,
need some help/answers here pls,
why is the engine jerking/hickup when stop on Drive mode on brake pedal ? When stop on Neutral mode, less pronounce of engine jerk/hickup,
i have cleaned the AFM and all socket connections with proper cleaner/de rust, it improves a bit but the jerk/hicup is still there, anything to do with throttle body?

badly need advice/opinion, as tis jerk/hickup is driving me crazy!

thank u guys,

coil plug may also be the problem.

FYI, you need to make sure the chop shop injector are similar cc rating else you will get lean burn and it will burn your engine.

the prob with halfcut items r they might not last long n if u r driving a 3.0, the injectors r different from 2.0 or even 2.5

unless u r sure its from 3.0, else u will face probs like what weikee stated

hi,
the jerking is minimised, after changing to a second hand AFM of a later model,
but the engine pinking/knocking still persist! Mostly during the day when its hot, no pinking when raining or night driving. This is mostly temp. related, but .........No ideas - solution from anyone?

thanx,

Yes, i agree with Ong , Chopshop parts depends on your luck, sometimes is can last for long time other time terrible! You know wat , I have similar problem last time , went to tc shah alam , unable to fix , outside mechanic also fail to fix , Items checked and replaced 6 coilpacks (RM200-00 each), Knock sensor (RM687-00!), TPS sensor, Engine tuning (RM105-00) , Intake manifold & valve cleaning (RM150-00), Rubber hose(Joint between T/B and air filter maf sensor ),Intake manfifold gasket (upper half) , oil sealed (seated between injector and intake manifold), Cleaned tb (became worst). Even did some resistant and voltage test on the electrics, wiring and connectors, no luck . Well, only 1 thing i didn't test/replace that was the injectors.

ming_fei,nope never had a chance to touch the injectors coz i did the engine swap. But I strongly believed 2 of my injectors were stuck open. The spark plugs were (for the 2 injectors) always fouled and wet with fuel.I have swap the ignition coil and plugs a couple of times but came out with the same results (foul and wet). Power and signal were present when checked and the injectors were clicking like normal. The conectors were grounded properly.. Wat else could it be then?

Was thinking....Maybe the AFM sending wrong info to ECU and cause the Engine to run too rich?

Dream tent, but each time i checked it was always the same cyclinder(s) which are fouling the plugs. If AFM problem, which contributes to engine running too rich it will foul all of the plugs right?

o worst case scenario....da 1 wt da foul plug might hv problem wt valve
Yeah i had thought of that too but most of the foreman/mechanic wouldn't recommend valve jobs on the our cylinder head coz its made of aluminium. Skimming the head would warp it. Infact i did check with TC . They told me to replace 2 new cyclinder head (V6 ) as they don't normally do a valve jobs on our cars.

Funny...

But for the sake of troubleshooting, why not swapping the ignition coils around and see if the problem follows the coil?

Wonder if there is a way to check each of the injector too. Maybe the solenoid degraded.

change a set of used ignition coils & leads(6nos all in) from a 2001 accident model, that must have solved the problem,
anyway gys, i have sold my A32 for a good price, and cos i found the car i have been looking, bought a Subaru Sti v8-spec-C,
i will still be contributing/logging in this foum whenever i can, probably bcos i have done alot about my A32,

Already done that and the problem stays @ the same cylinder/s. All the 6 injectors clicking away fine . (I used a long screw driver and listen to it).
