6pots Brembo with bad results.

What's a SSBH?

Brakes are usually biased front and less rear. 80-20, 70-30, etc. That's why a lot of people don't bother changing to rear discs and stick with the drum since the drum can be much easily modified to bite harder and more aggressively. Discs are good for the rear if you modify the distribution valve and master cylinder. If you don't, you're just using stock brake pressure on larger calipers which don't really work that well.

Update on solving problem:
I guess that's it's fair that I share with all of what happened.
After all there are so many commented & supported on this.
It's only fair that I chip in the update.
Thanks to all for helping.

When I got it installed it was late. Learned that don't rush or do anything at late hours.
Always ask how long it need to get it fixed & send in your car much earlier.

Problem solved:
From my personal view I guess that it's bleeding problem.(just my 2 cents)
I send it in for a change of brake fluid(5.1) & asked em to bleed all 4 sides all over again.

Also I've got a friend that newly bought a new set of BBK.
The seller add in SSBH for the rear in the package.
Sounds funny... There gotto be a reason to it. I just did the same.
Change the brake fluid & rear SSBH...Problem solved!!!
Results was from 1/2 way to the floor for max steeping, it reduced to about 1/3 only.

Personal view:
I'm not a pro & this is my 1st modded car.
I came to understands that rear brakes only supports about 20% grip.
Why change the rear SSBH? Pressure/Heat unbalanced?
What can't goes to the front kick back/expends to the rear?
Causing expending..? What ever it is it's the unbalanced that I changed the SSBH.

The SSBH part is just only a small matter only.
Main one is to bleed all four... This should be the main answer to it.
Anyone that got this problem I recommend the 1st step to over come it is to do this.
Cheap & no parts changed...
Maybe just a bottle of brake fluid. Cheapest of all part concerning brakes.

Did mentioned earlier to you to do a bleed as it was spongy. I don't think the standard hose will expand from 1/3 to 1/2 pedal feel as this is what gain you have got. I will say mostly contributed from brake fluid bleeding...

just that this is a braking discussion, can i check with u guys.. will hot weather causes spongy feeling? Because sometimes is feel ok.

Am using Bosch 5.1 dot fluid, sports brake pad (maddriver garage 550c), stock caliper (single pot)

Check brakes whether binding or not? Because if they are and heats up the brake fluid, it will feel spongy, happen once to me, but may not be same problem for you.
Are the brake fluid new? If not, maybe give the system a flush....

Hm... 5.1 is good enough already.
I'm using Motul 5.1 only. My pads are 700c pads & matching it with Dot 5.1.
Motul 660 would be over kill. Sepang track 20-50 laps then only change...

I wack my brakes like mad now. 180-200 down to 100-80 within 2-3/4 seconds.
That's on the highway with not too much bended roads unlike Ulu Yam or Genting.
Best to change about 20k km...

Heat up might cost this.
Recommended for all cars, change to Stainless Steel Braided Hose.
My old Hondo City got this problem as well. At that time I don't know about car modding.
If not I would have changed it much earlier.

Read up on the functions of SSBH. Why stainless steel & not stock original.
1 easy answer is if U do a big brake kit(BBK) picture search U'll see that 90% include a hose there.
That's SSBH. The pros include this in the package... Why not U get it?

1 pair of SSBH cost about RM280.00++. Brake fluid around 2x RM70.00.
All in around RM800.00. Get this this upgrade then no more spongy feel.
Get the workshop to do it right. I learned it the hard way.
I spend around 1 month getting on how to do it right. I was told as such:
Needs 3 person to do this...
1 pump the brakes, another pour the fluid, last bleed the old fluid.
No lost pressure...

At least get the SSBH. Main solution for spongy brakes.
Just Google "spongy brakes". Sees how many commented on SSBH.

Just my 2 cents...

Need at least 2 persons, no need 3, because pour brake fluid is in the brake fluid reservoir, when that level goes down the bleeding person can fill up before bleeding next brake point.
