Hey guys ,my brother currently is look for this engine, need some info before shift into this engine. Let us discuss on this engine, any of u have expriance on this engine ??
How about performance, spare part and fuel comsuption ?? Pls advice ... :hmmmm: :help:

4g92 non mivec got 2 type le... dohc o sohc??
sohc is like our proton 1.6 engine...
dohc1 from mitsu1... but is a very rare item... hardly find in chop chop shop...

i own wira 1.6. yes, the engine is 4G92 but only SOHC 16 valve.

however, power is good, easily reaching 6,500 redline rpm. and considering wira is lighter than waja (both 1.6), power to weight ratio also better.

good pickup, strong top end performance, reasonable economy :top: any time better than wira 1.5 auto

This engine is rare n kinda special i would say.
My fren jus bought a satria convrted this 4G92 DOHC non-mivec.

Pick up is very fantastic... U can shoot up to 180km/h(where it cuts) easily all the way from 0km/h.
Putra wif 4G93 NA cant keep up wif it at all though...Rite after traffic light turns green.
N yes...it's stock to the end. Not even the most basic ones like extractor or air filter yet.

According to some info found from internet this engine is from mirage cyborg R n it produces about 145HP. Tis is y putra cant keep up wif it i tink.

what I mean sure is DOHC engine ..laa.
Base on reply, seem this engine is not bad right ?? may I know what is the market price now ??
and for 4G92p, I know that it come with a good fuel consumption right ??

Bro, indeed the non mivec DOHC version is a very formidable engine. The only prob is that parts are hard to find and it is sometimes a pain in the ass to acquire. Stock for stock, i can compare them to our local 93p 1.8. Performance is similar.

Just as an example, I recently acquired a 92 non mivec dohc head for a ridiculous 800 bucks simply bcoz its so rare. I used the head to merge to my 92 SOHC.

u also can look for 4G93p head to mod in ur engine what ??:2in1:

I found out the hard way when i used the 93p head that the ports are a bigger than those in the 92. in the other means, the flow is stronger than neccesary. It was like using very very high degree camshafts where power came too late for daily driving. If I had modified the car to more aggresive specs, then yes, th 93p head is a viable option. However, if it hasn't been modified extensively, I lose so much on the low end, that I'd rather stick to a 92p SOHC. of course I felt a stronger top end, but what would be the use? I don't drive daily at 5000-6000 rpm when I go to work or fetch my gf.

for my opinion, I will stick to 4G92p sohc... better fuel comsumption and good low end respone :D
