The VVT is engage by throttle respond.In my oppinion that the advantages of the dli over the distributor system is in the ecu and the firring order of the coil.The advantages of dli ecu is 2 of the injection will inject together at the same time compare to 1 injector injecting for the distributors. The injecting order for the distributor is 1,3,4,2 but as for the dli system will be 1&4, 2&3 injecting at the same time. Dli system duty cycle is much shorter, by the distributor finishes one round, the dli system will already have finish 2 rounds. The injectors are giving more fuel by using the dli ecu creating a better fueling efficiency.The advantages of dli coil is that the twin coil has a longer firring sparks and much brighter sparks( Personally tested). Firring order of dli is also much shorter, 1&4, 2&3. Burning away all the extra gases which is trap in the cylinder by sparking twice.By combining the dli ecu and the dli twin coil has a perfect combination for each other. I have rev a 20valve silvertop up to 9600 RPM which a normal distributor system cannot do.
