balance shaft belt removed alone still practices worldwide including kampung and dsmtuners hehehei got few stock balance shaft sitting at home :) evo n vr4 the same lerr.. u want kerr??keke
chopped balance shaft no good but still better then just taking out the balance shaft belt without removing or chopping the balance shaft kekekekeekekeke

no issues reported yet :P all running well
yup, changed everything...only block reuse with honing job donewat!!! omg!!! did you change yr oil pump, crankshaft & oil cooler when yr rod bearings toast?
told u last time already, better rebuild your vr4 block, evo stock piston ring and piston and con rod like tofu fa man, whatever u gain the real exp, good luckjames, i replaced with evo block but it lasted for a while only...piston ring gave way...then i rebuild my vr4 block...vr4 block done but havent install yet :proud:
i would say burnt rod/main bearing wouldnt effect balance shaft unless the debris flow through the oil and get to the shaft...its good to ask than to learn the hard way, we are in forum to ask and answer...hehethanks for sharing spuzzle as 1 of my friend recently also rebuilted his evo 6 due to rod bearing problem...but after he took out the balance shaft his mech and him found out its hard to put in back in place...Dont why? So scary? Btw,will a burnt rod or main bearings affect the balance shaft?
Sorry for asking much...
Btw,it will be very crucial to change yr OIL COOLER yaa for the sake of long term durability...
last time i couldnt find vr4 internals to replace my crank, oil pump and balance shaft until i bought a complete engine...by the way why dint see u online msn for so long?told u last time already, better rebuild your vr4 block, evo stock piston ring and piston and con rod like tofu fa man, whatever u gain the real exp, good luck
lol get sick very long time,i thing got 2 month random non stop sick, old story already whatever i cure already....i would say burnt rod/main bearing wouldnt effect balance shaft unless the debris flow through the oil and get to the shaft...its good to ask than to learn the hard way, we are in forum to ask and answer...hehe

i did in kuantan...not sure where can do chemical cleaning...i suggest u better spend the money for port/polishThanks for sharing Spuzzle....Where you do yr overhaul? Just wonder do you know any shop can do chemical cleaning to the head & block?
these shafts counter balance the vibrationQuestion : This balancer shaft works as a harmonic dampener? Or...?
Ok, so by this logic, if say the whole engine was completely balanced to the 3rd decimal point (just hypothetically speaking) would it still need this counter balance shaft? What vibration does it counter? Where is the vibration from?these shafts counter balance the vibration
the nature of inline 4 engine is not balance.... if you do complete balancing also cannot, still need balance shaft no minimize the prob...Ok, so by this logic, if say the whole engine was completely balanced to the 3rd decimal point (just hypothetically speaking) would it still need this counter balance shaft? :proud:anyone mind to share on pros and cons on removing 4g63 balancer shaft?
those experienced may elaborate more. thx
the sifu speaks, good info brothe nature of inline 4 engine is not balance.... if you do complete balancing also cannot, still need balance shaft no minimize the prob...
you can read here to fully understand it...

i would say not much changes on oil pressure and be ready to get rock n roll....hahaha:proud:
So in my mind the pros of removing them would be:
* Higher oil pressure because the pump has to support less bearing space
* Less rotating weight ( More HP)
* No chance of BS bearing Failure
* Easier timing belt changes, and less failures.
The Cons:
* Possibly accelerated motor mount wear (but I doubt it)
* It shakes your butt.
Havent install yet, been busy for these few weeks...anyway after install still need to run in for 500km i guessHi Spuzzle,
any update on yr balance shaft removal?
Mind to share?
Thanks
