SATRIA 1.6 - Seeking advices for TUNING & UPGRADES

All replying through own experiences......:adore:

That is the good thing about internet forum. Real info.

Need to stay with mechanic when send car for repais like Bro. Renesis, can learn even more......lol

Learn visually only. And it is only limited to what is being repaired at that time. If new problem arises, need come to zth and search about it. If can't find a good answer, need post new thread and ask for help. Luckily everyone over here is very helpful. :adore:

I'm not a sifu. Still learning from everyone over here including you.

If it is the rise of temperature and dirty radiator, it could be due to a few reasons assuming that you don't have any leak on your cooling system. I'm writing this based on what I have experienced before regarding dirty radiator water.

1. Your radiator could be jammed or clogged with dirt, rust or some substances.
2. Thermostat could be faulty and it refuses to open up fully. This happened to me before and a lot of dirty brown coloured substances appeared inside my radiator water. These substances came from the broken thermostat.

Hope this can help you.

i would agree to what RENESIS suggested. had the same issue with rusty/dirty water in my satria's radiator so i got it serviced last year April, also replaced new hoses, coolant and thermostat as advised by the mechanic.

i do my routine check around the engine bay every 2 weeks, the radiator's water still looks new and no visible rust. probably would help :listen:

wah.. where do you stay bro? my mech in bukit kemuning there not bad if you wanna try. or RPG at shah alam also good.

hey bro sanekit, seems like there are few good sifus around kemuning. a friend suggested that i send my satria to RPG, another friend recommended Momentom, where do you go to if i may ask? any feedback?

Maybe the dirty rust looking stuff really is from an old thermostat. Replacing hoses is a good idea as old ones can be hardened and prone to cracking. While you are at it, don't forget to replace those minor hoses where coolant/water does flow through like those found near the throttle body. I had one of those cracked before and all the water in my radiator flowed out from there.

1. Can take photo of the rust in the radiator?
2. 'hangus' smell from the side of the left front wheel can be your caliper stuck. is the rim very hot on that side after short drive? if it is and the right side rims is colder than the left, that means your caliper need servicing.
Hi Senpai

Here i attached the pic of the lubang radiator for your reference. Very rusty. Worry it tersumbat like last Aug which cause my radiator to burst & engine terpaksa overhaul.

On the left rims, its super panas & bau hangus kao kao after i pushed the car hard just now.
Is the caliper service hefty?

:(

The radiator bloody kotor.
The mech didnt do his job properly when he overhauled my engine.
He should have clean all the hose for me.
That was the problem which caused my radiator to pecah.

To me it is just starting. Looks like no more coolant. I suggest you pour in a radiator flush, run it then flush the radiator completely. Refill and pour in some coolant and see how it goes....:driver:

If you think he did not do a good job you need to change to another mechanic dy.....:smokin:

A radiator flush is the technique to clean the radiator right>
By, running water through it & flushing it out on the other end when it comes out?

Looks very dirty. A radiator flush is recommended. You can try doing it yourself like how VR2 taught me before over here or you can get it done outside from shop.

If temperature problem still persists after radiator flush, is time for you to check out for things like thermostat or maybe the waterpump. At the same time, get your temperature gauge checked so that it is easier for you to monitor your temperature next time.

Radiator flush to clean both the radiator and engine block.
Most people do by letting water out at the bottom of the radiator, this only cleans the radiator.
By removing the radiator top hose and letting the engine run and filling water through the radiator, this will clean both the radiator and water passage of the engine block...:driver:

Thanks mate...will do so

Oh one more thing, if doing with thermostat intact need to wait for engine to warm up, means wait for thermostat to open before the water can flow. If you know how to take thermostat out then water can flow immediately. For me I just wait for engine to warm up, less work.....lol:rofl:

Bole...
Tak pernah cuba.
Lemme try

The workshop I went is at Jalan Bukit Kemuning. You can waze Bengkel Kereta RF Auto Service or Upwork Racing Workshop. So far they did a good job for my car from top overhaul, tuning etc. But mind you, there's a lot of cars there so you need to set an appointment for major repairs.

For the radiator, it's like what the guys said. The mech didn't do a full flush. He just replace the radiator and broken parts only. You can DIY full radiator flush. It's not that hard.

For the rims, that's definitely a caliper problem. Just go do caliper/brake kit service. Not that expensive. Less than RM150 for both front wheels. The brake kit comes in a set of 2.
