interesting topic.

I've been working on ZTH since I was 17 years old and that's been what i've been doing till today.
I dabbled in Business Management and IT studies for a couple of years but didn't go far

As for specifics, i suppose my field of work involves Website Management, Journalism, Photography, Racing, Events Management
I'm considering to venture into automotive journalism by around next year or early 2018. Do you have any recommendations for this?

well, I have to say it is in fact pretty easy to get into the Auto journalism game. Although it is getting increasingly competitive today with ever more talents getting on the bandwagon.

Besides the required skills such as journalism, photography, resourcefulness in sourcing content, to be a successful journalist, one should also posses worthy PR, Sales and marketing skills to ensure one knows how to sell themselves and / or to acquire a distinct individuality.

My suggestion for you is to start with a blog, or to generate read worthy content and to build an audience.

you can start by posting your thoughts / stories on the forums here to gain traction. There are plenty of critics here like Izso and Ixeo that can help you sharpen your content skills

good luck

Thanks for the advice. I am actually considering to start first by joining automotive websites or magazines as a journalist to get more exposure and experience in this field. Currently I'm pursuing a degree in language field, minoring in journalism.

mainstream cars? mainstream automotive topics? new cars? motorsports? personalities?
For now, I'm thinking of car reviews via test drives and covering new car launches. Automotive topics such as discussions regarding new technologies in automotive and guides is also on my mind.

Even though flooded but that is the mainstream things about automotive. Maybe like bro. Tom mention start a blog.....
To start a blog, I need my source of car news info in the first place which is difficult since I can't really use the news info from other automotive blog or sites. Need to get news first hand by myself?

Tom already offered an opportunity. You can post content here in the forum itself, and if its good enough, it'll get featured.

Here's my advice to you... reviewers are dime a dozen, frankly, nobody gives 2 hoots about the practicality of a car like the CR-Z, cause honestly if you want it to be practical for a family of 4 you must be pretty retarded.

So don't follow the normal "format" of reviews. Be yourself, be entertaining, there's no right way or wrong way to write car test and reviews. But there is boring.

Top Gear is the best example, with Clarkson, they threw all the rules out. It was entertainment.

People who read car reviews are into cars, but 99% of us don't buy a new car every year. So why do they read it? For pleasure, entertainment.

Take me for example, I'm just here for shit and giggles, and riding izso's ass whenever I see a gap. (get it? see a gap).

So, I need to think out of the box and not following any rigid set of rules/formats while doing reviews. Thanks for the tips and guidance.

being in car journalist industry, looks like easy peasy task....

BUT in reality...there is more than meets the eye...

even for such small part-timer for 2wheel division like me...its quite hard to keep-up all those media invitation and launch/press event....not to mention doing review, test, and interview....
