Car mod fanatics (pretty much everyone reading this) will soon be getting a taste our very own Pimp My Ride episodes right here in Malaysia. But for those who aren’t exactly aware of the show (just in case) it’s all about turning a car that’s pretty much considered a junk heap about to fall apart from a little bump in the road into something that’s ‘oh’ so delectable to the eyes and outrageous enough to turn you green with envy.
The original show began airing in the United States in 2005, hosted by Xzibit, Tim Westwood, Fat Joe, Lil’ Jon and Chamillionaire and after arriving in a few other continents, it’s finally arrived here in Malaysia with rapper-extraordinaire Altimet and MTV VJ Rich co-hosting the show that’s going on air on 30th November 2012 at 10pm on Astro Channel 713.
The Malaysian edition will, as usual, be taking possession of someone’s ‘junk’ and turning it into someone’s pride with the use of custom rims, paint work, body kits, lowered suspension, interiors, lighting and some ‘tricked-out’ In Car Entertainment (ICE) that should get you temporarily deafened; showing every step of the transformation process in a 30 minute clip.
Pimp My Ride Malaysia is ignited by Xpax’s Whatchuwant? campaign, giving Xpax customers the once-in-a-lifetime chance to have their vehicles worked on by MTV. Customers will be in the running to have their vehicles pimped out when they dial *128# and subscribe to any of the tailor-made packs. Contest details will be announced on the Xpax Facebook page at www.facebook.com/xpaxfb and the Xpax website.
