Subaru Returns to Rallying in 2010 With The Intercontinental Rally Challenge

subaru

About a year ago, Subaru broke millions of hearts around the world when it announced its withdrawal from the World Rally Championship. Time passed, wounds healed, and now, Subaru is preparing to get back into the rally game next season but this time it will be with WRC rival series – the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

This is not the first time that Subaru will be racing in the series, in fact the Japanese automaker has competed in the IRC since its inception and even won the very first IRC stage in 2007. However, Subaru was not previously registered as an official manufacturer in the series. Now, rather than field its own works team, word has it that Subaru will supply cars to privateers but will still be eligible to score points in the manufacturer’s standings for 2010.

So far, eight automakers have signed up to compete in the series next year, the teams are – Subaru, Fiat/Abarth, Honda, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Proton, Skoda and Volkswagen. Read on below for the official press release by Subaru.

blue taxi...

irc only allowed 3 fia homoligated cars to compete

1:is the more competitive s2000 spec car(proton,fiat-abarth,peugeot,skoda)which have a modified chasis(wider),a 285hp 2liter engine(with the billet block,cam etc),4wd system and 6 speed sequential transmisiion(only few brand allowed,x-trac,ricardo is among them)and a similiar front and rear bumper design..
and the manufacturer(or its subcontractor) have to made the car available for purchase to privateer/independent racing team for less than euro 250k(means manufaturer or sub-contract builder cannot sell the car more than euro 250K)

2:is the production category:group-n
rallyart(mitsubishi)
subaru(2010)
this car is identical as the road version exept for, ecu, suspension, safety(rollcage),removed seat etc etc.....

subaru and mitsubishi will be running the group-n not as factory team but through privateer...so nooooo subaru blue livery then...

and the car subaru will be running is most likely will be the prodrive n14
