635hp Shelby GT500 Super Snake vs 412hp Nissan GT-R

The guys over at Motor Trend ran a classic drag battle of American vs Japanese. The American corner being represented by the 635hp and 581lb-ft of torque Shelby GT500 Super Snake and the Japanese corner is represented by the iconic Nissan GT-R that puts out 412hp and 393lb-ft of torque. this shown how stupid american do the thing, especially those ppl inside shelby.
if you know you're car cant sustain such a high torque, do something with technology, R & D instead of the mod.... really dump

Good old Hill Billy from Country Bumpkin powered V8 still sounds awsome though...
Just love that V8 grunt.

GTR sounds way too clinical.

All wheel drive car in most situations will win out over a rear wheel drive car. The guy in the rear wheel drive car needs to get a perfect launch to beat the GT-R.

The GT-R is stab and shoot for the kill.

Not necessarily. Without some electronic launch control gadgetry it's very easy to bog an AWD car down initially. Not easy to launch. Of course the GT-R has the smarts to overcome this.

AWD only comes to the fore when traction is limited ie. rain

Damn the Shelby got beat.....At least the Shelby has more character, the GTR sounds boring as hell....
