It’s finally here, after all that teasing Ferrari staff have release these three pictures a few days before the official release of the new car and have also announced that it will be called California ending speculation that it might be called Dino. The pictures also reveal the new Ferrari as a drop top and if you take a closer look at the rear view of the car the new interior scheme becomes apparent, very neat and very elegant from this point of view.

Ferrari employed a 4.3 liter V8 powerplant that churns out an impressive 460hp at 7,500rpm to launch this car to a under 4 second century sprint. To achieve this, Ferrari developed several improvements that include among other direct injection and a flat crankshaft. It is also the first Ferrari to use a mid engine rear wheel drive layout.

All that power is delivered to the wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch transmission which is another first for Ferrari. To keep everything in check is a Ferrari developed F1-Trac traction control system that is said to be tuned to typical GT standards and all those horses are kept under leash by carbon ceramic discs that come standard by the way.

Ferrari has revealed that the California  will only be offered in convertible hard top only and that there are no current plans for a roofed coupe.
