2.2 vtec turbo

Guys need ur opinions here.I've got a h22a vtec manual prelude.Thinking of turbocharging it.Found a mechanic who could do it.Spoke to him yesterday and he quoted me this.
TD 05 turbine
custom made manifold and piping
Intercooler from vr4 or supra
360c.c injectors

He claims that this setup will give only 0.7 boost which is good enuf for me as it will be a daily driven car.Of course exhaust piping must be changed to 2.5.He says no need to change internals or the
management unit since it'll be running on low boost only.Claimed that boost will kick in after 2500rpm.Whole setup would cost around 4k.So what do u guys think?

He has turbocharged protons and sum hondas
 
0.7 bar is the stock boost level for turbo engines with low compression pistons. With your 2.2 vtec I wish you luck if you really can run at 0.7 bar. Most turbo kits only go as far as 0.4-0.5 bar for stock internals.

So with 0.4 or 0.5 boost stock internals should be fine?Thanx man
 
dont waste time,normally vtec they bolt turbo for drag purpose.if u say td05+manifold itself also cost 1k+ already
i doubt got problem.dont bolt turbo with stock internals.it is not that powerful and u are like planting virus in ur engine.if u insist on a powerful vtec turbo,get ready bout 20k at least.probably u will get stage 2
 
Thanx man.Appreciate it.Another mechanic in subang quoted 15k to do up everything from internals to management but he also advised me to go na.He prefers na since its gonna be a daily driven car.Anyway he is yet to quote me a price on that which includes upgrading of cams etc

blackie, does GT auto familiar with swap H22A into accord SV4?

cause half year ago i go there and ask, and they say that they didnt do before. so they not familiar with it... >
that time got 1 prelude h22a in the garage, they said that 1 going to be their 1st if i not mistaken...

0.7 bar is not low boost, you should consider 0.4-0.5 first. You definitely need some tuning on the management side. Piggback, standalone or chip, it depends on your budget.
No plans for oil cooler?
 
oil cooler is a must..normal vtec engine also has the tendency to be overheated, just imagine if u put a turbo inside..u dont want to change bearings all the time and have a blown head gasket..hehe

1st... Low boost... and than... Hi boost... after that... Over boost.. :)
 
turbocharge H22A huh? my foreman's customer EK4 B18C tapR with
GARRETT A/R 80 turbo DAX 7XX...hp estimate is around 500ps already spend around 60~70k on modification but still can't clock 12.5sec in 400m... if daily use,better go for NA... ;)

that one no traction la bro..use miki tomsom la, gear ratio how? stock ka? this also need to be look into..hehe

tyre used NITTO brand new... gearbox ratio spend 10k,tuned by fei lou... ;)

not drag car,street use...never enter sepang before but how to enter if managed to clock 12.5s??? management e6k tuned by GT auto in sunway...
