Can vtec engine use in Proton wira, satria? how the engine mounting and inspection(JPJ) can approve?
from .::Satria Vtec thread::. that fella claim no need to mod mounting, can use back oem mounting, but not all foreman can do w/o mod mounting. in 08 my friend swap engine charade G11 to espri 1.3 and the foreman do some mod and weld to engine mounting... in the end cant endorse till now, but others charade G11 swap to espri 1.3 easily w/o mod mounting and can endorse... seems like my friend found the wrong foreman to do the job
I have seen one B16B on old Satria 1.6 chassis back in JB but according to the owner, it was not JPJ compliant.
Then interesting part, his car is a silent killer running on stock external with no loud exhaust and no body kit. He claimed never been stop at roadblock. As the rule of Police / JPJ's thumb is mostly dark tint, loud exhaust, loud BOV, excessive body kit and panic...lol.
My friend 1JZ E32 is road legal. How come?
No la.
JPJ is very particular with Proton, but with other makes they slack a bit.
Found this in ZTH before
how bout mivec in kancil???:hmmmm:
Believe me when I say JPJ is stupidly strict with Protons. They will close an eye to a Cressida plonking in a 2JZ or a BMW with a 1JZ or even a Renault with a Mivec, but a Proton going more than 30% or modification of mounts - instant fail.
The saga vtec was probably done without endorsement. I know someone with a BMW 1.6 Ti that has a 3.0 engine (PNP) inside that's not endorsed. Driven for 10 years already and no issues. Roadblocks don't bother expensive cars as long as their tint is sensible. A proton with a slightly darker tint or a modified exhaust - hah.. instant tangkap and a thousand questions.
Meaning swapping K20A into EK9 or EG6 also no problem? Without endorse I mean.
