As part of Petronas's continued efforts to encourage science education as well as address current social issues, Petrosains has focused on the science and technology behind road safety to further improve their popular PETRONAS Street Smartexhibition which has been successfully operating for the past 10 years. As one of the PETRONAS’ key CSR programmes, the PETRONAS StreetSmart Programme has also been selected as PETRONAS’ People First Product to support the 1Malaysia “People First Product” Campaign.
Petrosains, The Discovery Centre, in KLCC is an exciting, contemporary, informal learning science centre that engages everyone, young and old, creating wonder through discovery and learning. It provides a rich, fun and stimulating environment to enhance science literacy as well as the appreciation for society, building future talent through the science of energy.
Its PETRONAS StreetSmart exhibition which is an interactive Travelling Exhibition, that has travelled extensively throughout Malaysia, including Sabah and Sarawak, aims to promote awareness and understanding of road safety by adopting a scientific approach.
The upgrading of this road safety awareness exhibition sees the introduction of completely new exhibits that showcase current road safety findings and practices, utilising enhanced delivery methodologies and learning programmes with the aim of improving visitor experience. Not only being more relevant and technologically advanced, PETRONAS StreetSmart is now equipped to further extend the success of its first decade.
